$20 a gallon here. Not really, but you'd think so with the way some people are acting. It's $4.09 for premium in my area.

Not many people get those numbers. My point is that there is not that much of a difference in MPG if they are driven the same way, same conditions.

Well when its put that way:

If you avg 21mpg vs 24mpg over 13,000 miles at, lets say $3.50 a gallon for a SS and 3.25 for the v6 (for argument sake), it does make a slight difference.

13,000 miles/21mpg=~619 gallons x $3.50/gal = ~$2,167
13,000 miles/24mpg=~542 gallons x $3.25/gal = ~$1,760
A difference of $406

But again thats assuming a 21mpg SS vs 24 mpg V6 which i highly doubt is the case. My co worker has an SS and averages 18mpg as many on this forum have stated before. I, with a v6, average 25mpg. (and yes there are normal driving conditions for both of us) now the numbers on that are:

13,000miles/18mpg = 722 gal x 3.50/gal = $2527
13,000miles/25mpg = 520 gal x 3.25/gal = $1690
A (Realistic) difference of $837 for every 13K of driving.

That isn't that big of a difference. Assuming you drive 13k in a 12 month period that is only a $69.75 difference per month.

I have 26k on mine after 17 months so I don't exactly baby mine and keep it in the garage either and the extra $70 a month isn't a big deal to me.

I posted this link awhile ago in a different thread, it`s a miles per dollar calculator to give you an idea of how many miles you can go on a dollars worth of gas. It`s fun (or may-be not) to play with.

Yeah, forgot about the $0.30 extra for premium. Still, most of us SS guys are ok with the extra $800 a year (in this example).
