Your car has a 6T70 transmission in it. It is built by Warren Transmission in Warren, Michigan. It was a joint venture with Ford, IIRC.

It's not Korean.

That's the V6 trans.

The I4 get's the Korean 6 speed.

It does get great mileage. My first tank of mostly highway was 30.5 mpgs. Manually calculated. The DIC said 25. I would have got the V6, but I'm doing a couple hundred miles a day commuting. Figured I'd give the 4 a try and save some gas for a while. Great little SUV, nice little motor.... trans sucks.

I'm glad you like the crossover...but please...It does not have a Korean-sourced transmission. The automatic in both the V6 and I4 are derivatives of the same transmission family GM developed and engineered here, in the US.

Just like the Camaro has a 'Mexican' TR6060 6spd Manual transmission.

OK, but my window sticker says Korea for the transmission country of origin. And there is a huge Daewoo transmission plant in South Korea. Those two clues tell me my trans came from Korea.

The assembly seems fine, it's more the calibration that is annoying to me. It has several speeds that it bogs the I4 motor down so low it just moans and vibrates the whole vehicle. They probably do that to get the advertisable 32 mpgs. NVH must not of been high on the priorities of who ever calibrated it.

It can be built anywhere. But that does not mean it was a Daewoo designed transmission.

NVH isn't really a high priority on a sub-compact that can dip below 10k with incentives.

Agreed, but I would hope they'd take NVH seriously on a 30K SUV. I was commenting on the Equinox.

The same way airbags, power windows, and stereos 'should' be standard..

Seriously, I think you can count on one hand the number of cars you can get without power windows or ABS. Now A/C is standard in EVERY production car. Heat too.. Oh well.

Yeah where are the good old days of the Yugo. Where the only thing standard was that you were driving away in a piece of $h!T

Hey I have a daewoo lanos, yes the interior is cheap and it's underpowered, but I like mine. It's been dependable and it's held up to what I've down to it. It's a cheap car it's not gonna have the most power and the most luxirous interior
