You're right, you know...
They over-think, and over-analyze EVERYTHING. The trouble is, not a one of them are qualified to analyze any of this. Our world is more complex than the one of 100 years ago. When crisis hits, politicians are no good. They need to bring in a multitude of "experts" on the issue...not you party's philosophy, or your own opinions. They're worthless. And everything coming out of government lately is just that...worthless.:(

(except the auto loans. They surprised, and pleased me with that. )

Older cars emit a lot more than CO2 and water, and its this other stuff that has made the air in cities like LA that wonderful yellow-brown colour. New cars emit little more than the regular by-products of combustion. However, has anyone looked at the lifecycle environmental cost of building a new car? Cars aren't grown in a field or hauled out of a mine. For a car that has been built 20 years ago a lot of its impact has already been felt. But to build a new car to replace an old one? You're gonna have to save a lot of gas to make up for the emissions caused by manufacturing.

Feel good politics at its best. Looks good and sounds good on the surface, but when you break it down there are more questions then answers. I'm telling you CA is awful when it comes to this stuff. The whole "50 State legal" aftermarket performace issue comes from CA. You can buy a supercharger that is 50 state legal which means it is legal to operate in CA. Other wise it's only 49 state legal... wtf

So how is offering money for old cars any different than tax incentives for hybrids or money for guns that a lot of states/counties run occasionally?

This is an optional bill just like the money for guns, you don’t have to take your gun it either (not that I’d ever own one anyway).

Now if at some point they try to do something stupid and make it mandatory then you start the campaign to stop them.

Seems like a lot to do about nothing and a lot more upheaval at this than in how privacy was compromised after 911. I’m more concerned about that.

49 State Legal will be fine with me. I just won't drive in California.

California is the leader in Anti-Heros and dog crap that they bronzed, stuck a price tag on and called it art.

(Fairly sure I wont be driving in Hawaii either.)

By the way. If they go through with this. What will Cuba do for cars in the future?
