I would.

If I had the money and wasn't more loyal to GM than Ford, I'd drop that much on this thing right now.

Believe it or not, Ford is doing an EXCELLENT job with their new cars...and GM better do as good or better with the 2013 Impala.

Thats an ignorant statement guys!! Just because it shares the Taurus name. If you guys are willing to drop 40,000 on a Camaro .. It's the same scenario people are saying why would you drop 40 G on a Camaro!! These cars only share a name !!! Both the Camaro and Taurus really are NOTHING like the old cars!!!! This taurus is basically an everymans MKS !!! I would definitely pick this car up!!! Shit depending on what happens by the summer I might and then get the Camaro in 2011.... I mean come on people pay 40000 for a maxima or a passat why not for a fuly blown out Taurus

Same reason people buy Chargers, G8's

With the G8, I see little need for a new Impala. If you want a family car, the Malibu will do just fine. If you need something larger or sportier, the G8 has that covered.

Your absolutely right. I had an Edge as a rental a couple weeks ago and it was very very good. Silky smooth ride AND transmission. Awesome power for this kind of vehicle. Simply put: As good as my car for less $$$

The G8 is only selling around 1,200-1,500 units a month. Impalas sell around 10,000 units a month.

Yeah and how many of those are going to rental companies? What does the Impala offer that the Malibu doesn't? Yes you could make a new Impala that's essentially a larger Malibu, but is there a market for that? Or at least enough of one to justify it?
