Did you ever watch the episode where they go to America and drive the Challenger SRT8 CTS-V and ZR-1? They each loved those cars and i believe Clarckson owns a ZR-1, know what your talking about before you speak.

On another note the new one was descent, still not as good as the original but it is just the first season, we will see where it takes us.

i did. and, for some reason they classified that episode of a "race of musclecars". last i checked, the CTS-V is not a "muscle car"

That is possibly my favorite hour of television ever. Right at the end as 'cpt. slow' flys by Clarkson in the CTS-V....


ahhh...but I digress. There is a chemistry between the hosts of the BBC TopGear that can't just be "created". They've worked with each other for years and can play off one another...so even if the content were identical, TopGear USA can't do better than the original.

But...give it time, and I think it'll do just fine.

Ok then if it is a performance luxury coupe then what would you call a Camaro with luxury features such as heated seats, heated mirrors, leather, Bluetooth connectivity, back up assist and HUD in the windshield etc etc???
Where do you draw the line in luxury in regards to luxury sport coupe and a muscle car??

Not arguing here just asking some logical questions.

Well, i just saw the first episode, and as expected it wasn't as good as the british, but good enough to be actually entertaining, i think they should add more originality as far as the segments, the cobra chasing the viper was just a copy from the british version, however i found one odd thing about this episode, which seemed weird to me, i don't know the facts, but i'm just saying, the viper is reallly faster than the super leggera? i found that really hard to believe, maybe a little bias in favor of the american car?

Cadillac is a Luxury Brand. CTS-V is a Cadillac model.

Many convenience features like you cited don't make a car a luxury vehicle, or the argument could be made for an Aveo with power windows...But a Luxury vehicle can also be a performance vehicle; like the CTS-V. So they consider it as such: a performance luxury sedan/coupe.

A Camaro with convenience features like heated leather and HUD is just...badassery in a suit.
