GM is smart not to reveal too much.
Either Dodge is stupid, and not protective enough, or it's part of a plan of theirs...hoping somebody WILL see it.

I agree. This way GM can wait and see what the most powerful engine Dodge has to offer and then significantly add on to it when 2009 rolls around. I think Chrysler wants people to see this car to get the buzz going big time. Here are some more pics:

I'm all for the camaro interior except the hvac/stereo. I love the mock gate shift plate.

The funny thing is that the guy who took these spy phots of the Challenger was apparently driving an LS1 Trans Am at the time and he actually revved his engine at it to try get the Challenger test driver to race him. The Challenger didn't accept the challenge, for obvious reasons (can't street race prototypes).

The challenger is slated to go on sale by this time next year, these drives are probably the final checks on stuff like cooling and brake response ect.. The specifications are production and aren't going anymore until post production, so there really isn't much more to hide.

That and the challenger is targeted at a completely different audience than the camaro, its aimed at the 40+ middle to upper class that want to relive the 70's and can drop 40k on a limited "reissue".

As for the interiors...I'm not sure I like the Challenger's, honestly. It's definitly more functional, that's for sure. But I'm not sold on the gauges - I just don't like 'em...there was a report where one of the exec's said they were going for a cyllinder-block look, you know, looking down into the cyllinders. They pulled it off, and I don't like it.
Now, the Camaro's interior looks less squared-off, and more welcoming/spacious. It also looks less plasticy then the challenger's...though that's all subject to change . Of course - I LOVE the Camaro's dual gauges up front...and I'm sold on the gauge cluster down below, love 'em! And the best part is - GM wants them to stay like that (maybe a little less flashy <billet aluminum>) but they do want them to stay in for production. I DON't like the un-useability of the hvac/stereo controls... but I could get used to it.

Agree 100% on the stereo controls. I think you'll find a lot more who are in that same boat.

Yeah, the challenger just doesn't do it for me... For some reason, it keeps giving me the feeling that I need a mullet to make the whole thing work. Maybe it's too retro?

I like it, but the design is too retro to last IMO. Good thing DCX doesn't plan to mass produce it for long
