You should reall check the fluid level on the trans dipstick! Let's us know if it's low.
Hahahaha How did vengeance let it go like that? Did they have any thoughts? |

I learned when looking at it that there are no U Joint in front.
In fairness, the noise was only every once in a while then. And isn't easy to hear now. |

I suggest you stop by the auto parts store and pick up a stethoescope. Something like this http://www.google.com/products/catal...=0CIQBEPICMAk#

Pete,
Should we start a poll on what the problem is...??? I'm personally thinking it's something to do with the driveshaft carrier bearing or u-joints at the center section... Not being there it's really hard to tell though... Obviously it's hard even if you are there...

Whatever it turns out to be.....I am positive the DONK wheels are to blame.

You sure all those quarters you had in your center console are accounted for?????
At least the "thump thump" sound (the deeper one) is happening consistantly. By that I mean I watched the vid and see it happens at the same time that bolt comes around, every time when it's turning. You said you heard this every now and then and now it's pretty much constant? The car was in neutral and you were spinning the wheels. When you drive the car it matches vehicle speed ~ not engine speed. With the consistant thump and the same place every time that sounds like a tooth missing somewhere. Kind of like where I put the arrow pointing to. It has to be something that spins constant so I wouldn't think that would be a gear (like behind the arrow) That tooth may have been hanging on by a shred of hope and finally gave. While it was hanging on you would hear the noise every now and then, but when it came off it created the constant thump noise. I think the metallic noise is that piece floating around in there just bouncing off of things. I hope I'm wrong.

I think a new torque converter would fix it.
Seriously though... it's really hard to tell from a video. I can' tell just exactly where it's coming from. Did Vengeance say anything about it when they had your car? |

I don't think a converter will fix the issue Em. I think the only *real* solution would be to get a ZL1.

When I put my head rearward to the denter of the drivshaft it's very obvious that I'm leaving the noise area to the front. There is 100% certainlty that the noise is coming from there. How far up toward the front of the tranny I can't exactly tell but not far. The clunk sounds like it's directly under the shifter but harder to pinpoint. I need a lift. Quote:
