Next time this happens (IF it ever does...), go back in and ask him for his keys so you can move his vehicle so you can get your door open. Maybe leave his parked somewhat inappropriately - right next to a junker or stinking dumpster for instance!

Shoot the B-I-L in the foot & take one of the kids hostage until your car is fixed. That'll show him.

JK, If it were me, I might mention that one of his kids dinged the car. Not really requesting payment for the damage, but if it's offered, I'd accept or you could politely decline until he insists.

Could get couple these and put them out around you, say 2 on either side. As stupid as your brother in-law is he may spend hours driving around looking for the valet stand.
