The only way to really tell if the a10 is equal to the 1le, is to switch drivers and do it again. If results are the same, there equal drivers, but if RSFR wins, then he is better and the 1le is still a step above the zl1.

That one was Randy Pobst from MT, but if you read the article, at the end he corrected the tires PSI on the A10 and did a better lap time VS the manual ZL1. At that time MT had already removed their measurement devices, it was the reason that this lap time was not posted as official.

Maybe. It's not as easy or as fun as you might think to drive someone else's car hard on the track, or to let them drive yours. Especially when it's your friend's and you want them to stay your friend, lol.

Last time at the track, a friend asked me to take out his 991 GT3. I've driven it on the street and it's spectacular, but pushing it on the track is a whole different thing. He had not purchased track insurance for that event, and I politely declined.

Since my last post in this thread, I've discovered that GY makes the 3Rs in 'standard' ZL1 (20") sizes. Maybe once track season starts in '19 someone will be able to quantify the delta between the 3s and 3Rs.

I know it most likely wont happen as I agree for what you said. But driver mod can be a huge advantage, and you looked to be a better driver. When I raced off road, I thought I was pretty good. But got beat by some with lesser equipment then what I had. But seeing them race, I knew they were better. If they raced my ride, they would of smoked me.

Since when is the 3R avail. in stock ZL1 / SS 1LE sizes? When I looked up replacing my tires on my SS 1LE a few weeks ago on Tire Rack, the 3R did not come up as an option.

I just looked again, and the stock "3" is the only avail. Goodyear tire listed. The 3R's do not come in stock ZL1 / SS 1LE sizes

I stand corrected, interesting. Too bad you have to pay MSRP pricing though, and surprised Tire Rack does not carry them.

Now if only the ZL1 1LE could be had with the "3" tires, that might have swayed me to the ZlE instead of the SS 1LE. The next best daily driver option for the ZLE is the PS4 and I didn't want to downgrade that much. The "3" would have been the perfect compromise for daily driver use and still maintain superior grip levels.

You guys still seem to be not understanding that the ZL1 may have track brake pads which could easily account for the differences. It doesn't say which ones but my guess, unless I'm missing something, is shorter stopping distances mean more time on the throttle and lower times. I'm not saying it's everything but nobody seems to consider that.
