When you purchase an SS you get XM for a year free. Mine is anyway. Says right on the sticker.

I did mentionabout not using a phone Ipad ,ipod. I only have have a cell phone with no minutes or data plans. I pay $10.00 a month plus .25 a minute. In the last 3( my be longer) months my cell phone bill has been $30.00. I do not use the phone enough to pay for monthly service.

I have had free XM radio since September 2010 and I still have it

I bought my car with 13,000 miles, so I am not sure if owner paid for several years or is still getting charged?? Worked out for me though FOXHOLE RADIO...
my friend got an Indy Impala SS with 10k miles on it 9 years ago. It had XM radio and it still does. The car went right from the factory to a GM exec and then my friend bought it(worked for a chevy dealer) He thinks the XM must have left the factory with some sort of lifetime subscription for this exec

When I got my car, I got XM for free for a year, the trial is almost up and I am not going to renew it. I use an almost full 8gb flash drive. I have my full Megadeth collection on it as well as a ton of other songs. I just listen to that on random. It works just fine for me.

^This. And then Google Music All Access is even better sound quality than Pandora. Not to mention XM was always losing signal. Nice thing about using Pandora or similar streaming service is that you have it with you wherever you are, from vehicle to vehicle, to bedroom. But just based on sound quality alone I wouldn't want XM for free. And non stop drops outs? No way!

not trying to be a prick, but for those non-techies, the music format is mp3. MP4 is video. It was also .98GB which is 980mb.

Personally, I like the sound of the engine when I'm going down the road. Sometimes it's the only place I can find quiet.

Thanks for the heads up.

I love XM, its a shame they have some douchebags working for them.

And that's why I will never pay for their service again.

lol...nerd here

I just bought a 256gigabyte thumb drive and now have it loaded with about 180gb of well organized mp3s....30 or 40 thousand tracks, I think....

And I subscribe to Pandora and Google Music All Access (both which I HIGHLY recommend if you're a music lover).

I'm all about audio........but frankly, XM bores me in about 2.5 seconds. All of their programming is very, very vanilla (at least it seems so). I might keep it just for some of the other benefits, but I'm doubtful.
