Not a source I've used before, so reliability unknown. But his name is the only one out there right now.
Tenn can thank USC for that. I'm not being sarcastic either.

Yea they can. Muschamp is a huge upgrade over Kippy.

Apparently Kiffin told UT he was leaving last night, and Muschamp/Tenn have been working out the contract since then. According to the source, its a done deal.

The real shame here is his betraying of the team, which, IMO, will hurt his future recruiting efforts. Maybe I'm wrong, but how many prospects are going to believe a word that comes out of his mouth after this?

p.s. How would you like to be his kid, having to carry the name of your daddy's greatest shame for the rest of your life?

I'd claim grandpa in this case for sure.

Ok St actually won the bidding war, Dykes was paid at least $23k to play for them. All 4 of those teams were caught and received NCAA sanctions.

And yes, they had to have barely avoided the Death Penalty. Paying players was one of the many violations SMU committed which resulted in them getting it.

Well, TN, when you hire a douchebag, don't be surprised when he acts like a douchebag.

Good riddance to him, his daddy and Ed Ogeron. The SEC is a better place without 'em...

Muschhamps Answer ....

I’m not looking for any other jobs. I like the one I got I really enjoy what I do. I really enjoy being the defensive coordinator at Texas. I’m 38 years old. We’ve got a good young core of defensive players coming. We’re going to be good.

“Again, I really enjoy my job. Seems like everyone has a hard time believing somebody liking where they are. I’m not a grass-is-always-greener guy. I’ve had opportunities to be a head coach. I’m not a guy who wants to put head coach on my table just to be a head coach.

“I want to be a head coach at a job where you can win it all and be in the best job in the country, and that’s Texas.”

He also stated over the past 10 years he has moved so many times taking upgrades moving his Family around has become stressful.
Unless a Certain job came open he likes it right here in Texas.
Austin is where he and his Family want to stay.

Well said.

The really sad part about this, is that all the USC people (specifically recruits) are excited about him coming. Seriously???

His HC record is 11-18 and he just landed the HC job at USC...........

Sounds like a hell of a coach. I am glad he is staying... last thing we need is for Tenn to hire a real big time up-and-coming coach who will turn their program around. I like them being mediocre.

Muschamp has a plum setup there at TX. Good history and a good recruiting base. All he's gotta do is sit and wait for Mack Brown to retire and since Brown is 58, I don't think its going to be too many more years till that happens. I just don't see Mack Brown being another Joe Pa or Bowden and coaching another 20 years till he's 80....

I'm suprised Mack just took the extension to 2016 however no one said he will live up to it.

I was a student there at the same time he was there. Many of the players drove cars that were out of their price range, if you know what I mean. Hart Lee was known to be seen in a BMW and JR Dillard was always in a Vette.

Actually theres a lot of "USC people" that arent happy with him being hired. I think its more about who Kiffin is bringing with him that got him the job. Im betting USC will be just fine.
