Ammo? Check your walmart. It's sporadic, but when they have it it's reasonably priced. I stumbled across some Federal .223 last week. It was $35/100 plus tax. They had 8 boxes available.
I haven't seen any .22 or 9mm for two weeks.

What's up guys, I currently have a Remington 870 Express:

I'm looking to get into the hand-gun scene, but don't really know where to start. I'm 20, 21 in March, so I'd like to get my CCW before and do it right.

I'm thinking i'd like to stay under $400, buying a nice used gun isn't going to bother me much, what would you guys suggest?

I'd suggest you wait, because anything that's hi-cap is up in price, and clean pistols don't really drop in price... not a lot of choice in the ~$400 range right now.

I picked up a used Tanfoglio Witness, it was in your price range, but I think they're all gone. Sweet pistol!

[edit] Here's one similar... great shooters!

Those Pmags for $60... I just picked up two yesterday at a local gun shop. I paid $29 each.

You will have to shoot a few different ones and see what you like. Hard to reccommend a particular pistol. (Although I'm a glock guy.... LOL)

That is just Wolf ammo in a newer package design. It has a steel case as opposed to brass casing.

I have never had an issue with steel cased ammo. Be cognizant that when a brass cased round is fired, it expands to the dimensions of the chamber. Steel does not expand as much. If you shoot steel cased ammo, shoot it last if you are also shooting brass cased during the same session.

That link explains it with pictures!

Wolf is dirty. After a range session with it, I would spray dechlorinated brake cleaner down the barrel and then run a boresnake down it prior to leaving the range. That made my cleaning a little easier when I got home and didn't have to worry about the carbon buildup. There have been times I have went a couple of thousand of rounds between cleanings with no ill effects. AR15s have a way of getting carbon out of the way for necessary functioning. A dirty wet gun will run all day, a dirty dry gun will only run for a while so just keep it lubed up if you aren't one who religiously cleans their guns.

I appreciate the Info. I always clean my guns after shooting so I'm not worried about that. I'm just trying to find ammo for a decent price at the moment.

I got some american for 41$ for 100 the other day at Dicks.

My question is, what is dicks doing with all the rifles they have in stock? Didnt they rip them all from the shelves and are hoarding them?

Did they send them back or what?

Hey guys, figure i'll share this with you.. I recently sent my glock upper and the parts to my lower (i took it apart) over to a guy in MO who polishes the barrel and upper for a living! he does it by hand and doesn't use a Dremmel... it turned out fantastic and pictures don't do it justice but here you go!
