And between you and me I think we got most of the big namers because of HOW WELL they play together.... Anyone watch the UnderArmour All American Game? All but one Gator played on the Black Defense... and the black defense forced 4 ints (all by Gator recruits) 4 sacks (3 by gators) and they dominated the white team. Oh and the kid we had on the other team had an int as well lol. The two big combine games are the Army All American, and UnderArmour.... and the Gators had the overwhelming MVP from both games...
Kids see those other kids out there making plays, and they think... wow... I want to go where he is going. So kids can recruit for a school nearly as good as the school itself... So this year's recruiting efforts have really snowballed. Now from what I am hearing is we might end up with one of USC's 5* WR's... and that would really push this over the top.
BTW there is a big difference between a top 3 recruiting class, and among the best of all time. Think Miami 2002. Miami 1990. USC 2004.
I'm excited to see what our new NFL DC can do with all this talent... rumor is he is bringing the dolphins 3-4 blitz packages from the NFL...
Makes sense.
USC is gonna be in big trouble recruit wise. lmao

People have weighed in here from far and wide...
Alabama--- 1 ???, Kudos to Alabama for a Great Season and the National Championship, Well Deserved..
Calif,
Mich,
Ga,
Chicago??? K-State???
and Nebraska...

I did a little survey via ESPN sites and re-affirmed my thoughts...

Feel Free To Flame...

What would College football be without "TEXAS" football...

Alabama...??? National Champions... Kudos...I was actually pulling for them as I was born in Mobile, and am a huge life long fan of the Bear...
109 roster/55 from Alabama, 3 from Texas...

Florida, 111 roster/71 from Florida, 5 from Texas

Nebraska, 140 roster/67 from Nebraska, 21 from Texas

Ohio State, 117 roster/74 from Ohio, 2 from Texas

LSUoosers...19 from Texas,--- Just kidding, I actually like LSU since so many of my friends and co-workers are rabid fans...and you cannot go anywhere in La without being fed great food with a friendly hello... from my sons college baseball days... He's playing pro baseball now...

Oklahummers...(figure it out) 44 from Texas,

K-State, 34 from Texas and only 22 from Kansas...???

TCU--- 19 non-Texans

Texas A&M---9 non-Texans

Texas-----------6 Non Texans...for 49 other states... ???

Oh, and we still have Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, Houston, Baylor, SMU and a host of Div 1-2AA schools and Div 2 and 3 schools with football programs...

Without the great "STATE OF TEXAS," College football would be nowhere near the game it is today...

If you want to look at it in another way, if K-State were to have won it all this year, Texas wins, If LSU were to have won it all, Texas could brag, if Oklahoma "ever" wins it again, Texas wins...

If Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor, SMU, TCU, Rice, etc... win it, TEXAS wins...

Just my thoughts...

But hey, the game is over, what happened has happened, and we can all look forward to next season.

Texas had a great season, Colt McCoy had an amazing career at Texas and will do just fine in the NFL. No one can take away the fact that Colt is the winningest quarterback in college football history, as well as the most accurate. He has practically re-written the record books at Texas and it should be interesting to see Garrett Gilbert step in and try to make a name for himself.

Let's not forget, as a high school football player, Garrett was considered the top QB of his class and led his team to a 39-4 record as a starter over the course of his sophomore through senior years and two straight state titles. I'm excited to see him step in and take over the reigns. I would be even happier if Greg Davis (the offensive coordinator for Texas) got fired, but one can only dream

Just a little food for thought from a thread that was abondoned by most people shortly after the National Championship Game...

1320, is it looking like Tennessee is in trouble for sending female recruiting "hostesses" to high school games to hang out with the players?

Without the great state of Texas you say the college game would be no where near as good. If there was no Texas, wouldn't everyone just live somewhere else.

Texas/California/Florida are the three great stops in recruiting.... only problem is that only ONE of those states are centralized to the degree which would allow they're players to be spread between a huge amount of programs. (Florida is on one side of the country... Cali is on the other... Texas is in the middle..)

Why doesn't someone do one of those charts for Florida kids.

Compared to some other SEC teams, it does seem Tennessee isn't so bad.

And if Oklahoma didn't suck so hard, (In response to the first quote above), Texas would slide off into the Gulf of Mexico, There would be more players coming from other areas, and there would only be two great stops for recruiting...
Hence, Texas Football makes College Football better as a whole...

Well, McKnight wasn't even in college when Texas played USC. And I'm not sure the Bush allegations had hit the press before that game either.

And I despise all cheating. If indeed USC is found to have paid Bush's parents rent, and bought McKnight a new SUV that's serious enough to warrant the 'Death Penalty' imo.

USC's men's basketball program has had it's share of NCAA violations as well.

Yup. And since the NCAA cannot subpeona people not present at institutions governed by the NCAA, he won't have to answer questions unless he wants to.
