Honestly, the SS doesn't look like anything special. Most people will gloss over it as some average run of the mill Chevrolet sedan. However, that's why I love it. It has a freaking LS3 in it and soon to be manual transmission and mag. ride suspension.

I don't think I've posted once in this thread, but I just have to say...

...that was a pretty idiotic thing to say considering I see actual people driving the sweet new Impala pretty often around here.

Its Ok bud...I'd be mad too if I were from Canada.

Can't we all just get along??

My 1st car was an Impala it was a great car 2 door 350/4 had a lot of good times in that car, so for me the last good Impala was 1996 what they call an Impala now is no where near what had been great cars up to 1996, Came very close to getting one of the last Impala SS's

The new Impala is a really nice looking car with a 305 HP V6 in the LTZ trim. Not rear wheel drive V8 but a solid choice for general transportation.

2 door Impala ? or is that just a concept

If you need a 4 door and you like the car want FWD that is your choice if it works for you good, I will stick to my RWD cars.

Not sure anyone is left that cares at this point, but I did finally get to drive the Charger Hellcat, and a few laps in the Challenger Hellcat.

Charger:

Not a bad car! In both SRT 392 trim and Hellcat trim this car will move out with authority. It would never be my choice for a serious track weapon for either road course or drag strip work, but for a guy or gal who can only have one car to do it all, this car will deliver.

On a road course the brakes are great and I would expect no fade at all during a normal 20 minute session at an HPDE. Shifts with the 8 speed auto in track mode are lightening quick, and butter smooth when put back in street mode. If you put it in track mode on the street, you will likely hate it, but once hammering down around the track it does just fine.

Dodge makes no bones about what this car is. They know it isn't a track weapon, but it is a performance car that a family can use. Plenty of room inside and out, and the new styling gives it some serious presence on the road.

The Chally is also nice, and I drove the 6 spd manual. I am not a fan of remote mount shifters, and this one was no exception. The nice thing is, I didn't have to like it because the 8 speed auto is so good. I really would rather have the auto in this car than a stick. I don't track often anymore, but felt I could when I wanted and do just fine. I would even go back to drag racing with a car like this and enjoy that as well.

Downside to me is that every nut job that thinks his car is fast, or just wants to see how fast a Hellcat is, would be rolling up to you everywhere trying to get a race. I have little self control in this area, so I would ditch the Hellcat fender badges, and maybe even the SRT logo altogether and put R/T badges on it.

I am debating selling my Boss 302 and buying the Chally. I don't track much anymore, and I think my wife would like the extra room and comfort the Chally has over Mustang and Camaro. I really don't see this car as a Camaro/Mustang fighter, but view it like the old CHevelle SS or Monte Carlo SS. Two door cars that could kick ass, but also give the owner a little more than the smaller pony car brethren.

Your fair and unbiased evaluation of the Hellcats will not be tolerated. How dare you.

What do you mean remote mount shifter? I'm a little confused by that part

What's not to like about a car company that puts out great commercials like this!

Nice Review by Hot Rod.

"Because all of the gear ratio is in the transmission, the car can hit a top speed of 204 mph. And they didn't just creep there; the tailwind run was reported to be 214 mph."

4 door rocketship

can get you, your kid, and three of your friends to the dragstrip and back without your wife having any idea what is in the driveway. Unless you tell her
