Anyone notice it's a 2010 camaro vs a 2011 Mustang.

Suspension tweak + gearing = SS > GT, no matter what

Until we are told otherwise the 2011 SS looks to be identical with the 2010, except maybe the addition of HUD.

Considering the Camaro is also their long term car, I am sure it is broken in while the Mustang isn't. Seems like it takes cars these days about 3000-5000 miles to really open up. Heck, with huge diference I saw in my little 2.4 Jeep over 5000 miles I can't imagine the difference between these 2 off the showroom floor and with breakin miles. Also, what about 60ft times? I can't wait until actually drivers hit the track in these Mustangs because the Rags just leave a lot of pertinent info out of their reviews.

They've already announced changes and i don't think a HUD and Synergy green are going to increase performance.......... That said, who cares? They are both amazingly performing cars!

On rice burners it's 150hp so on a muscle car it's going to be at least 300... :P

I was worried the Stang would blow the doors off the Camaro with the new 5.0 set up. Obviously thats not the case though.

Pure and simple its one of two things now. 1) Driver or 2) Mods.

Isn't this the way it should be.

And BTW, I don't care if chevy beats ford or vice versa. They both better beat those damn ricers...

I guess they pre-pro cars we're ringers. Ford has a long history of that. All season tires don't make that much of a difference in straight line performance, it's handling where the summer tires shine. This is right where I figured the mustang would be compared to the LS3. Torque curve > than weight disadvantage.

we all knew standard tires are a joke on cars. we all knew standard equipped stangs are going to be slower than m6 SS's. (those who use reason)

the ford boys who thought they could option the hell out of the car and ignore physics are going to be upset. they will change tires and gears. those who thought the stang had more power, or was just plain faster from amagazine will be shocked. IMO. they have to be optioned to kill stock SS's easily.
The car had 3.73 gears. It didnt have the summer tires. Thats about the only down side.

When motor trend weighed a full option gt premium MINUS the glass roof it was 362x. A base no option car is 3603. The glass roof adds 20 lbs.

The weight is a wash depending on options. You are looking at plus or minus 40 lbs.

But yes the tires will make a difference.

The tires make a big difference.

Just look at the handling numbers from the 11 GT they tested with the summer tires vs all seasons.
