just check it. it takes 1 minute of sticking you phone down the front of the engine and taking a quick picture. no getting under the car, no getting dirty

Hey thanks for this. I just did it and saw the raised numbers. The dealer checked and said they were there but wanted to check. I took a video instead of pictures which allowed me to move around and get a little margin for error.
Car goes in first thing Tuesday morning. It took them a couple of weeks to get the parts. Hope to get it back by Thursday. l

139330 built sometime in January and I have the etched numbers starting with 20...

I opened my hood, turned my iPhone video with light on and slid the iPhone down between the radiator and engine and then faced it up and slowly videoed under the engine for 30 seconds or so. Found the etched number pretty easily after watching the video. It took a few minutes tops.

Thanks for all the good info in this thread and it was reassuring the etched numbers were there so I don't feel an urge to rush back to the dealer after just taking delivery a few days ago.

Flagged in the recall as well, build date of 11/15, VIN: 126675

Luckily I found lasered numbers on the pan. I went from the top, did a video then took some pics.





Some have asked for the position of where the phone goes from the top. This is the spot, straight down just past the harmonic balancer and you will get your pic and numbers:



Going to call my local dealer down the road to see if they can confirm today and hopefully clear the recall. The dealer we bought the car from is almost 40 miles away so I'm hoping the local Chevy dealer won't hassle us.

Car is in the clear, thank god! Even got a free wash since it just rained here! Wish those of you the best of luck who need to have the work done. I wouldn't be too happy myself!
