Just hit inferno act 1 on my monk last night. I was able to kill a few elite packs and some yellow mobs but it took FOREVER. I definitely need to farm. Spent 1.5m on lvl 60 gear (building resists mostly... at 365ish to all with one with everything buff)

15k HP... 15k dps (using a staff... attack speed is abysmal and driving me crazy) I have about 800 life in hit with this staff... but I almost do better using dual wield fist weeps with several hundred less loh. The biggest problem for me right now is dps. Feels like it takes an eternity to kill anything.

Ahhh well. Farm time again.

Well I've started doing achievements until I can figure out from other people's experiences if it's possible to clear act I and/or farm inferno as a wizard. Kiting is pretty difficult for me still as I haven't found the right build yet, and I don't know how I' mgoing to get better gear without farming sarkoth for millions of gold (at 2-8k per run) to try and buy gear form the AH. I am up to 830k currently and haven't cleared Act I inferno yet.

Just got past the spider queen in act1 last night. Its a struggle.... not enough dps for a lot of elites. What I've been doing when i get stuck on a pack that i can't beat: clear out a different section of the map away from the entrance/checkpoint. Train the elite pack to that location, die, leave them there, finish quest. Basically bosses are easier than a lot of elite packs. I'm essentially planning on working to the butcher and then farming.

Even as melee I have to kite quite a lot. But my damage consists of high burst during periods of in vulnerability with lots of heals thrown in. Its very efficient but high health elites are nearly impossible unless I've cleared out a massive area to kite. Once I hit 600 resists I will focus on weapons. Currently at 400 Res with 550 dps fist weeps.

New Update!

Apparently, if you buy the game digitally, you will only have a "trial" version for up to 72 hours.

Blizzard explains the lack of having a full game available after paying for it.

Blahhhh whole family is asleep and I have time to play... blizz does the standard tuesday server shutdown :(

Anyway... trudging through act 2 inferno on my monk, and it's arduous. I'm at the point where white mobs are trivial. However some elite packs are unkillable (most) Just not enough damage on them at this point to really survive. Resists are around mid 500 or just over 600 if I use a shield. (I hate using a shield) about 12k dps... 21k dps with cooldowns active. (those who play a monk know the deal, dps during periods of invulnerability, said invulnerability cooldowns also increase attack power) It's definitely trying at this point. Any upgrade for me approaches close to 1m + gold.

I'm making slow progress, but going broke doing so. I'm about 2/3 of the way through act 2. If I don't start making some coin I'm going to have to go back and farm act 1 for a week or two. It's actually a pretty fun challenge thinking of ways to get past elite packs, but kind of sucks when my NV stacks fall off since half the elites I have to skip.

I've mainly focused on improved attacks speed (2.2 atk per second) and Life on hit (900 LOH right now) The problem is my 650 dps weapons. I think this build would be pretty viable with 1k+ dps weapons (dual weilding) However I might just start farming for +crit+crit dmg and Dex weapons. I have about 1K dex right now. Any thoughts on how I can up my damage without losing survivability? Kind of funny... these boards on a CAR forum are more helpful than the blizzard website, full of kids crying that the game is too hard.

Ahh well thanks for any input guys!!!!

Look for 900 dps weapons with loh and crit damage. There's your advice. lol.

I may be browsing the ah for things today at work. I'm not sure which will be easier to farm with so I'm just getting all my toons to 60. I haven't played in 3 days because of car events and spending time with the wife and dog. I'll be back playing at some point. =)

Well...I got my DH to 60 over a week ago. Inferno is tough, and I bought level 60 gear without vitality, so my hit points are kind of low. Good enough for farming Acts III & IV with almost no chance of death (certain mobs will kill my DH though).

Since then, I've gotten my monk to 52, my Barbarian to 45, my Mage to 26 and my Witch hunter to 16.

I've am also playing a Hardcore monk who is level 32. I'm scouting how monks fight through the acts with my normal monk though....so I'll continue my hardcore soon.

Decided to farm act 1 on inferno. Ended up spending more money on crafting than I wanted to lol.

BUT I did score the plans for ilvl 60-63 fist weapons for 20k off the auction house, and I am a lvl 10 blacksmith. SO if anyone has a monk and wants me to craft for them I will do it for no charge (Other than the 57K crafting fee)

Keep in mind, you can end up with anywhere from a 200 dps weapon to a 1100 dps weapon. So far the best I've gotten was a 500 dps with 158 dex, and 5% atk speed. It's a total gamble, and the odds aren't too good LOL But if you have 29 exquisite essences, 4 iridescent tears and some BS tomes (I forget the amount) and 57k laying around hit me up.
