Ok so here is the update: Urb is going on medical leave.... so he is likely to miss the 2010 season, but he isn't gone for good. He has a press conference at 4:30 where we'll learn more, but right now he is going to take a leave of absence which would be temporary, and come back after a year or so.

If that were to happen we would promote our OC to HC (and we will SUCK because he is AWFUL) and look for another DC. It would mean that we wouldn't have a chance in hell with any big coaches, unless they are DC's.

Urban says he'll likely be coaching in 2010. Soooo basically this was all for naught. He said he hasn't spoken with Billy Donovan but I'm calling BS.

"Hey Urban, this is Billy. You do know you can come back, right?"

Sounds like this leave of absence will be a few weeks, right after NSD.

But still, Stoops is one of the best coaches in the country. He has been in more NC games than ANYONE!!!!! So he only won one of them. The competition was against the best of the best.

I think he'll win more NCs before he's done.

I wasn't reffering to OUR game as much as his recent record in BCS Bowls....

But it does appear that he will be back, possibly early enough to start the season next year.... so that will help recruiting, as well as keeping the best coach in Gainesville. Now we just need a DC...................

I usually pull for all Big12 teams however I am a Longhorn and cant do it when it comes to one Team...........I know Sad they are even from Texas....yall just wouldnt understand

Which Stoops?

Two are HC's, and the DC was already hired by FSU

We need to look for an up-and-comer. The DC from TCU would be my first choice.... what he did at TCU with sub par talent was unbelievable.

You do realize the TCU DC is a good coach but over half of the reason they are good on deffense is Patterson there head coach right ?

He is like a Belichick a head coach who masterminds at Deffense.

We don't need someone to build the Defense... we are already there. We need a recruiter and play caller.
