I might buy a Handgun when i have a Family (whenever that is)

i want to know what you have to add....

and...if you ever do get a handgun and decide to keep it locked away from kids.....oh, boy...i could go several ways with this one.

Both good and bad...and how to present guns to the kids...etc.

Dude, I grew up in a house where my Dad had guns and rifles, I have a small (government funded) arsenal at the house, the key is, as long as the firearms are not the "forbidden fruit" the kids won't think it's that big of a deal. Oh crap..I'm steering this toward the other topic that went to poop.. Come on..think fast... umm.. what color of Camaro should I get?

Freakin EXACTLY. If they know they can see them in mom/dads presence, they won't be apt to sneak out the gun to check it out. GUN SAFETY. I am one of the biggest sticklers for gun safety out there. I accidentally shot a friend of mine with a pellet gun when I was in the 4th grade. Dude...that messed me up. The friend is fine...and we are all grown up now. She's on my facebook page. Totally by accident. But, guns aren't toys...and i was too young and stupid. I learned.

Teach the kiddos!!!

well do you have a home security system?

if you do not have a dog that can wake you up in the middle of the night if something happens you might not even know the person is in your house,
(if somehow he gets in your house without breaking a window )

Home security (like a alarm) would be my first priority then a handgun would be my second priority for home security,

i know if i was a robber and i heard a alarm that woke up the entire neighborhood i would scram from that place as fast as possible,

and teaching gun safety to your children is necessary to
