I bet the hellcat in this vehicle will be roll racing monster. But just like the GT500 it will get smoked or 90% of the time where racing actually occurs.

To pass emissions standards they must of did an excellent job with this motor.

I would like to see this motor in a half ton reg cab Dodge truck four-wheel-drive!

But the hopefully the lighter 6 gen comming out with the motor out of the new ZO6 will give this more of a race the hellcat would like in a straight line. Plus actually turn
Wrong Dodge claims the Hellcat is the FASTEST muscle car to date. Also they said it is the most powerful to date. Not to ruin the debate but Dodge is serious about their statements.

I'm looking at the ZL1 and GT 500 I think GM will need to come back with something, also what can GM do to compete with a 707hp 4 door

Its cool. I said that for two reasons.

Me myself was comparing only the 392 and Z28 1/4 mile times. Thats it. Just think those two are too close for the spec differences.

The other is the whole "its not built for the drag strip". Its still a 3800lbs camaro with a ls7 and sticky tires. Sure it shouldnt pull the wheels but it still should be capable of running damn good times with those specs. Not high 12's imo.

Regardless if you check the records, no Dodge was faster than my car this spring. That was my point when I first commented and if you look at the same archive where your Challenger did a whopping 200.9 you see a 2010 Camaro did 243.2. You are on a Camaro forum and in case you didn't know it. Camaro is still king in the unlimited racing world. GM is just too easy to modify.
I know it doesn't rival 243mph..but I thought I'd just throw this out there..
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zlELJMOCVyw

Though, it still has yet to be driven all out due to transmission issues. Just a few months ago he threw in a 4L80E because he was tired of searching for a solution to his input shaft problems..So hopefully he'll be back out come October.

I was also at the Texas mile this past spring, and you must have been talking to the wrong people. The one that drove the above car to 205 was there giving a hand to everyone else. I know the orange srt8 wasn't with our group, so that may be who you spoke with..but I believe every other challenger running was in our group and knows of the record.

Nothing. The LT4 in the Z06 is 650 hp and other cars would be lucky to get that much power from it.

I wonder what the price of this will be?

Also what other upgrades have they done? I mean its awesome to have 700HP from the factory but for 70k+ (Im assuming)...Horsepower wont cut it...if anything it will embarrass itself if it cant get around a track faster than a ZL1

I think the comparison with the Z28 was because it is a 75K car and the Challenger is going to be in that price range, same as people comparing the SRT8 to the ZL1 and GT 500 because it was higher than the 5.0 and SS

It doesn't have launch control and is manual only. Why would it run as well as an auto car with launch control just because they make similar power?

Simliar? 35 more hp? Auto 392's put down around 400hp. Z28 450. Its 400lbs lighter.

That 305 race tire is its launch control. Ill take that tire any day over dodges LC and crap 255 goodyear.
