Thanks for the welcome! Here's a pic of the other rides. Did the complete paint & bodywork on both. The 72 scored 987/1000 at the Musclecar & Corvette Nationals in 2013. Made me quite happy. Current NastyZ28.com calendar cover car.

468 BBC

And the 92.
I had wanted a thirdgen since they came out as I was a senior in HS then. Finally got one, restored it - then gave it to my son for his graduation.
Told him I'm still calling it mine though til death. lol I still drive it more than he does.

And the new ride. Had to have another orange car. Favorite color!

Already switched out the wheels on it for the dark silver ones off a 14 and have a few other things in mind to make it a bit different than all the others out there.
Will be taking it on the first 4 legs of Power Tour in 20 days!

I just realized something. If the deals on the 5th gen will be great once the 6 hits the lots, which mostly likely it will (I do like it a LOT, but I dont LOVE it, which lets face it, I do LOOOOVE the 5 something fiece) something else will happen, my current 2LS will have the resale value of used beer to quote a budy of mine.

So, I think Im going to pull the trigger now on this if I can get the right one. I might have even found a 1LE. Its not Red Rock, but its hot red, which as a 1LE it doesnt look half bad at all. I wish it would have been a non rs car and a 1ss instead of 2ss (not a fan of leather seats, they slip too much for hooning lol, but the 2ss does have the HUD, so cant complain )

Anyway, my local guys have a buyer that wants a used RRM six, so I might not get a better price as is (and getting out of a lease at that, no fees or penalties at all, plus a good deal as it is on a 2ss)

So, well see, if all goes well, Ill have the SS by Tuesday

Nice cars, and maybe we'll see you on HRPT! I'm heading up Thursday and will be in Madison to go to Ring Brothers and then the VFW Fish Fry Friday.

Nice, Jan. The speed will come with more seat time and you adapt to a rather more frantic pace of working the controls than you ever get close to in street driving, and any tendency to stay in the middle of the "lane" goes away in search of the fast line. And on more open courses where you'll get to use more than just 1st gear.

All is not lost. There are a few things you can do to minimize how much you slide around in the seat when you're either out on a road course, autocrossing (hint, Jan), or just plain hooning around. Something called a "CG-Lock" is one. If you're DIY-inclined and have some old seat belts handy . . .

or the new, improved version . . . I suck at sewing, but the strength seems to be there

Castosua - Congrats on the imminent purchase! Sorta bummed I bought used 2 months ago as I bet I could have found a good deal on a 15 also.

Happy Monday everyone, Have a great week!

NOOOO, dont jinx it...although i just read this now after the bad news. My credit is crappy because I like under a rock, so they dont want to sell one to me. The deal was good, and not a 10 year loan or anything..460 a moneth while taking my upside down lease off my hands....but with a cosigner. It makes me feel like im a young punk...so dont know what to do...

On the other hand, I could order myself a RRM 1SS or even 2SS 1LE...sigh...what to do..what to do

I love my cloth seats. I too don't like leather seats. I stay put just fine. But then again, I'm not yet going fast enough to be throwing myself around much. LOL

Just an average day at work. I did a 1 1/2 mi of walk, fast walk, sprint in 15 min before my dance exercise class then some stretching then my 50 min class. My stupid Fitbit says I just had 30 active minutes today. It is a good thing that thing was free or I'd not be a happy camper. I'm tired so I'll be turning in early tonight.

Chevrolaine --- great looking cars !! Really like the second gerneration. Would like to add one to my collection some day. Looking for a RS survivor from 70 to 73.

Jan --- You look like you did fine in the auto cross. If you time got better, then you beat the one that had the very same car as you !! That is what really counts.

Norm --- does your belt go under the seat around your lap or around the back of the seat and around your belly ??? I have only used five point harnesses and I am ignorant about what you are showing us.

Diane --- What is the route of the power tour from Champaign to Granite City on Monday. I can not find it posted on the power tour website. Just curious which way they have selected thru my neck of the woods.

Anyone know if Rick made it home ??

John

I made it home. Had lots of stuff to do yesterday and returned to a hornets nest today at work. I won't got into the specifics, but it's a wonder to me how some people are able to live day to day without someone guiding then every minute of every day.

Seems my son decided to conduct chemical experiments while I was gone during that first week. One experiment involved oxidizing metals, and now I we have several rust stains on the back porch, pool deck , and two outdoor tables. Plus we found 5 other "experiments" placed around the house and his car, one of which he "forgot" about. I was not a happy camper with these damaging experiments and how I came unglued with the whole matter. But my son spent the afternoon cleaning the porch. And he'll hopefully finish tomorrow.
