That seems to be how it works. I haven't played story mode for a while, but I did lose a couple cars that way, back when I played it. I would start a mission, and when the mission was over... my car was gone.

It makes you not want to use the cars you save/buy... and you end up with a garage full of cars you never use. I ended up just customizing their personal vehicles, since those always stayed.

yeah, that makes sense. maybe one other car you cruise with, with your crew, as long as you don't do any missions.

I've dumped an absurd amount of money into my corvette. I take it to a race, and park it back in the garage every time. Otherwise I'm pretty sure you lose it. I also save before and after just to be sure. Call me paranoid.

I quick save after every mission is completed. and do an extra save before and after a major mission.

I'm not very good at saving after missions. I have auto save off. Last weekend I set myself back four hours

I also have franklins charger loaded Matte black with everything. With the right mods it looks like the real deal, and damn it looks good. That thing endure a firefight.

I love how fast and easy the quick saves are. I have autosave on, but I still save. lol I haven't modded anything yet. i'm saving up to buy LS customs. I heard you can buy it and then customizing is free for everything.

Based on his racing skillset that doesn't surprise me at all. That's okay, I still like my Modded cars. I wish I could mod them with more detail like the old NFS: most wanted games.

anyone know if you can meet up with another character? for instance, could I mod a car with franklin, drive over to where I last left Michael, switch to Michael, and get in the modded car, to save in his garage? or does the car and franklin disappear when you switch to Michael?

I'm pretty sure each character works in their own world (i.e. yes, the car would disappear when switching between characters) Only during Heists do you get to use them together. But I actually never tried this, so I could be wrong.

You can meet other characters in the game. You follow them to long and they will kill you. As far as stealing their car not sure

Random: If your car is damaged and you switch between the two really quickly the car will still be there and fully repaired. I tried that out the other night. Worked for me

oh, and I did the assassination mission at the hotel, with Franklin. I put all the stocks into bettapharmacuticals, for all 3 guys, and I didn't really make any money. I even slept 3 or 4 nights with my characters, and I really didn't make much money. I made more money on the "small town and big job" heist. That was freakin fun! lol
