High temp today in Ottawa -4 F. I switched weather channel back to CNN before I heard the wind chill as I am staying home today.
Diets...OMG I tired all when I was younger and only one worked but that was when I was younger with a 29-inch waste line and thought I was fat at 145 pounds (Scarsdale's Diet). Decided a decade ago to stop weighing myself. Must of lost some weight in the last 6-months because I went from a massive size 34-inch waste to a comfortable 33-32. Want to get back to a comfortable 31-32, ideally a 30-inch. We get older, our bodies change. I realized a decade ago I will never be as slim and proportioned as I was in my 20s, 30s, 40s, or even in my early 50s. Now in my mid 60s, just want to stay healthy. Yes, my mind tells me to loose 15-20 pounds, get that 30-inch waste line, but I know that in my mid 60s trying to achieve that goal will not be good for my health. Felt good when last week I put on my old black jeans that were 32's. Damn they felt comfortable and I only put them on because I was doing laundry to wash my black 34-inch jeans. Apparently I lost some weight. My weight loss only due to no snacks. No clue what I weigh because as I said stopped weighing myself about 12 years ago. Funny about weight loss. Ramses, my big fat Arab cat is a comfort eater, he was getting so large his weight was affecting his health. Had to lose weight. So he was put on a low cal diet, only fed twice a day. Then he had an issue, thought it was a stroke that affected his hind legs. $5,000 in vet bills, medications etc. One of those medications might cause upset stomach, he needed to be feed. Surprise. I started to feed him 3-times daily, he has lost some weight, now off all medications. Surprise, he lost weight because I now feed him 3-times a day versus twice and he is slowing getting stronger. Our bodies change and how we metabolize food changes as we get older. Get use to it and get over it as you will never have your 30-year old body again. |

I just want the one I had managed to bust by butt & get 6 months ago before my job changed & screwed up my world. I'll get there. The short term problem is My fat azz won't fit into but a couple of pairs of my pants & going to work naked is frowned upon. I REFUSE to buy bigger pants when I plan to get back into shape.

Not Camaro related but car related.
Last Nov. I mentioned I bought a 1966 T-Bird conv. and imported it to Canada. Let us not even discuss the expense but it was the right time, right auto. The Bird was finally delivered, with much drama, late Nov. Drove it about 100 yards before I had it picked up by a restoration garage to 'tweak' it before spring auto shows. Told the restoration garage do what has to be done to make a 48 year old car a safe driver, plus my long list of other stuff, no budget was set. 'Tweaks' pushing $4,000 but my experience with the restoration garage excellent. The Bird was restored back in 2003, but still had issues. Told them not to hurry as I can not drive it until the spring (late April in Canada). Garage owner called me today with latest update and I am thrilled. Think now I am going to spend extra $ to bring the auto body to concours rating (adjust panel fit, quality touch up paint nicks, etc.,. Chrome already replated and interior looks factory new after a few tweaks). Stupid perhaps for an auto I do not intend to "show" for points or awards. Just love my autos and want a 1966 T-Bird that drives and looks like the family new 1966 T-Bird I drove when it was new, back in the day. |

My husband agrees about weighing in. He believes the real indicator of health is Body Fat Percentage. Too many factors for a weight standard that applies across the board. For example, a six foot tall man, well you can't have a weight range that applies to all six foot tall men because some guys are small framed, and some are naturally built big and wide, very husky and just carry much more muscle without exercising or trying. It's just natural for them, just like the one who is tiny, narrow shoulders and thin as a rail, naturally. Yet both are six feet tall. Body Fat applies to both equally, and they for best health should both fall into the same percentage range. Men in their 50s ideally should have a body fat of 18-24%. Men in their 60s 19-25% is ideal. That's irregardless of their weight because the tiny guy could easily weigh 150 at 20% body fat and the big guy could easily weight 240 at 20% body fat. So weight is irrelevant. |

abaucom21 I'm happy for you that your classic is turning out nicely. Can't wait to see updated pics of it when it is finished.
Baby it's COLD outside! I did some exercising at work in my office as it was a slow day. I found an exercise class I can go to on Monday & Wednesday after work but decided not to start that on this bitterly cold day. I'm eating clean & healthy. Little by little I will get back on track. I sure do dread getting out in the sub zero temps in the morning & driving to Nashville where like today, very few if any of the clients will bother to get out of bed to show up. Turning in early tonight. I need to get more sleep.

I'll have to check out that diet link when I get a chance. But I do not know how to measure my progress without weighing myself every day. I have learned I have a pattern of weight loss and this will help me when I reach my goal. After all, I have to learn how to maintain my target weight, and I won't know this without weighing myself. BTW, I have lost 55 lbs since July and plan more weight loss during Barrett Jackson.
Speaking of Barrett Jackson, I only took 3 photos today as I was pretty busy. Installed almost all of the Barrett Jackson license plates today.

Cool stuff Rick. We will be enjoying the experience with you vicariously.
Dang! it was cold this morning. It was about 3 degrees when I woke up, 5 by the time I left and a balmy 8 by the time I got to work. At least the wind has died down today but it is so cold it really does not matter too much. Pepper (the Altima) sure did not want to start/run today but I convinvced her. No one is showing up so far as predicted. I sure don't blame them. Makes for a boring day though. I had to clean out some space in my office for the girl who will be using my office on M, W & F so I will have stuff to haul to my Springfield office today. Guess I'll put on a few of my dance exercize videos & move a little until time to see if the next client dares to brave the cold to show up. Later crew.
