It was a Merry Christmas indeed. I got to spend time with my wonderful kids Christmas Eve & Christmas day. Now the aftermath. I have to get going this morning as I want to get the decorations down & also supposed to go help my daughter load up the last of my mother's furniture. I'll post up some pics when I get time.

I hope everyone's Christmas was happy & safe.

That sounds great. We spent some time over a friend's house and had fun.

Got some running around to do this morning, including returning a Dremel 4200 I got as a gift. It does not work.

Good morning. Well another Christmas has come & gone. Yesterday I got most of the Christmas décor down & put away. Just a little more to do today. I took a break mid-day, met my daughter & her husband at my parents house to load up a bedroom suit & a couple more odd furniture pieces. It is sad to see the house sitting vacant. Then we drove to see my dad. My daughter cried not having seen him since he started the significant cognitive decline recently. Then we stopped by an antique mall for a while before heading back to get their car & the rented truck & they headed out to Florida.

My son decided to extend his stay a day longer to spend time with Mike's parents before he heads out to spend a few days with my daughter through the New Year's holiday before heading back to his post.

Here are a few pics. My son arrived in the Mercedes he rented & let me take it for a drive. It sure gets up to 100 mph fast but the turbo lag is not a feeling I favor.

I had a nice Christmas it was the first time in many years where I had a chance to watch kids open presents on Christmas morning. Of course I cannot have an uneventful vacation so we got a call from our neighbor yesterday that a tree fell by our house. She sent us pictures this morning and we got lucky it missed our house by about 2 feet and also missed our deck. It only took out one section of fence so looks like I will be breaking out the chainsaw again when I get home.

Sorry you will return home to a big job but glad it did not do damage to the house.

Jan, your posts make me hungry! And where's the fudge? What kind of car (that yellow one) does your neighbor have? Looks somewhat interesting. Glad your son stayed a while longer, looks like you had a great time.

Glad you had a good Christmas Zandron, sorry to hear about your fence.

I can't get used to these colder temps. Had to actually layer clothing today so I could tolerate Pavilions. I haven't layered in YEARS.

The fudge in in the pic of my table. It is Brown Sugar Maple Black Walnut fudge so it is light brown not chocolate colored. The yellow car is my mother-in-law's neighbor & I did not even notice it. I'll look next time I'm there.

My house is completely back to normal now & Ruby is very happy. She does not like things changed. I am glad I'm done with it. It is quite the job putting all that stuff back up. I can't even imagine doing all the decorating I used to do. Today we will head out & try to get some accessories for my Gopro & maybe a little sale shopping.

HAGD everyone.

That's the way the holidays should be celebrated, good food surrounded by family and friends! Excellent pictures! Are those rice-crispy treats? Haven't had those in decades, yummy! He must of had fun driving the Merc, very nice.

My sweet son spent the day yesterday with Mike's parents & then spent the night & morning there. Then late morning headed to see us. It was supposed to be a surprise but Mike's mom thankfully called to give us a heads up. After like an hour he called to say he was on his way. The drive should have only taken an hour or less but an hour later I called him & he said he was at a dead stop on the interstate. It took him 4 hours but he finally arrived. Good thing we knew or we would have been gone shopping. We spent a long time just sitting around talking then he wanted to go to his favorite Chinese restaurant to eat so we did. He says there is no good Chinese food in Texas. Then after we ate he came back here & we sat & talked a long time more. He asked about his yearbooks so we got them out & he looked through them.

Then he started looking on his phone at cars he could trade the Mercedes in for when he gets to Atlanta. He said he wanted to look at my car as he was thinking about getting one like it & he said he wanted to rearrange things in his trunk & put some dirty clothes in a garbage bag he asked for. I could tell he was up to something & wanted me to go in the house so I did. A few minutes later, I needed to go back out & give him the key to my car to lock it back up. I caught a glimpse of a bear in my passenger side seat but did not let on. After He left I went out to see what he did. This is what I saw:

And there was a nice note inside the cards to Mike & to me separately, the necklace to me, the bear is personalized with his name & unit, the cap has his name & rank & the stickers one for each of us. I sure love my son! Now he is headed to Atlanta then on to my daughter's in Florida.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I've been so busy and away from my computer. Just checking my phone, but no time to really post. The weather has been very odd here. Had a nice Christmas with family and friends, which is truly what it's all about. Now time for New Year's festivities this week.

Jan, I know it did your heart good to be with your kids, and for them to spend some time with you and the grandparents. Hope this is the start of more of that. I'm happy for you.

Dang, I don't want to go to work! I guess I'm too old to have a tantrum, huh?

I'm sure not used to this getting up early. Just makes me long even more for retirement & sleeping in most every morning, only getting up early for really fun stuff. Must, have, coffee! HAGD all.
