Will do. More nice pics! What's up with the straight line in the beautiful night sky?

Up early on a Saturday to get ready for the car show. Should be a pleasant day. Happy Saturday all.

First is the rear view of the resort we are staying at, Poco Diablo.

Second is shooting at the hill behind the resort. There are houses up on the foothill that have an AWESOME view

Third and forth are of the Milky Way. Skies are dark enough up here to see almost all of the stars! The white lines are a plane flying through the photo.

Wow, Great Pics! Checkout heavens-above website, you can get the space station flyby schedule for your area, or any/all satellites. Up here whenever it goes by it takes about four minutes you get to watch it go across the sky! Pretty cool knowing we have people up there moving at something like 28,000 mph.

The line is an air plane traveling through the photo. In order to shoot this photo, the shutter needs to be open several seconds.

Wow, 28000 mph. Cool!

Question: Has anyone noticed when reading the general forums that anyone in their teens seem to be slammed by haters? Appears to me when a teen posts a topic, the haters of young people with nice cars jump at the chance to knock down those teens and call them spoiled, etc. I find this distressing.

On Camaro5, we come to this site because we have a passion for cars regardless of our age. Personally, I want to encourage those new young people vs slam them for being young and driving a Camaro, or any other car for that matter. So many of the younger generation's just view autos as appliances and don't have the passion for anything automotive. But I continue to read on Camaro5 people slamming young newbies in the general forums.

We should be mentors of the younger generation that have a passion for cars. Why are their so many haters of new teen drivers on the general forums just because some teens might be driving Camaro's. What do you think?

Sounds good to me. I haven't slammed anyone here.

Why so many "haters"?

I don't think that true communication over the internet is easily practiced. Things like tone of voice and body language are all but totally MIA. Smileys are a weak substitute. Now consider the age groups for which anything much longer than a 140 character tweet is considered a lengthy reply. My thoughts are that too much is left to interpretation on the reading end.

The youth and inexperience of the teens isn't helping. I did just find a thread about the 18 y/o newbie member (August 26, 2014 join date) who was given a V6 Camaro. IIRC, he could have anything under $26k . . . and he got a bit whiny here about his real friends' comments. The better part of the wisdom that wasn't present would probably have been to just let the whole matter drop before ever touching any electronic communications device..

It's going to be hard for people not privy to a socioeconomic level that allows for such gifts to not see at least a hint of boasting in the background. I'm not saying it's proper to always make that assumption, just that it happens.

Age. I'm guessing that the general forums' demographic is quite a few years younger than that of this particular thread. Maybe a whole generation or more. Is what we interpret as being harsh beyond all reason viewed differently or similarly by the teens, 20-somethings, and the younger 30-somethings? I honestly don't know, can't step that far outside myself.

The timing of this is truly unique for me. We just turned one of our cars over to the 17 y/o granddaughter. Signed over the title at the DMV this morning.

Norm
I can certainly agree with this paragraph, and will add "emails" to it. Over the years, work emails have become a monster instead of "business communications". Tried my best to deliver short, concise emails but the younger folks viewed them as mean and demeaning. What the hell? This is work, we work here. For a while, they wanted us to add smiles and that kind of stuff, but now they are viewed as ridiculing the recipient. Only person it was ridiculing was the sender, as that kind of stuff was inappropriate for a supposed professional work environment.

Cool pics as usual Rick.

It is a cool & cloudy morning here. I sat out on the swing on the deck & had my breakfast & coffee. Going to wash Pepper, do some chores, cook out, do a bit of shopping for needed things & maybe go by the gym. Have a great Sunday crew.

Congratulations, Jan, very nice.

And just because I can't help teasing a little . . . which of your three Camaros snagged the award for you?

Rick - I wish I could take pictures that good just in my dreams.

Thanks Norm. I've been reading everything on photography that I can get my hands on.

On the way home from Sedona, I shot a few more things.

The first two are in Jerome, AZ.
The third is a shot of the Verde Valley, where Clarkdale and Cottonwood are located.
The next four are at the Sunset Point Rest Stop along I-17 north of Phoenix.

We had a great time in Sedona this weekend. My vacation continues this week with lots of yard work.

Good Monday morning crew! It is a crisp cool morning in Tennessee. Time for coffee & getting ready to face another week of work. Have a good one!

Love all the travel pics and pics of events so keep them coming.

Also a little cool here in Ottawa, not going to hit 60 F today. Had to finally break out the denim jacket last Friday. Heat turned on and cats napping by the warm baseboard heaters but still have windows slightly open. So confused. This time last week view from the 19th floor was all green, today fall colors. Winter seems like 6 months, spring 2-3 weeks, summer hit and miss, fall 2-3 weeks.

With a chill in the air and a view of fall colors I made an appointment to get the Camaro and Riviera Krown treated this Thursday. Drive the Camaro year round but keep the Riv garaged winters so only rust treat the Riv. every two years (Camaro annually). Always winterize both autos no later than mid Nov.

Today starts 4th week of the semester but I don't have Monday classes. Finished a marking blitz on my advanced level design studio student projects today and feel puffed up as I marked all my advanced studio research & programming submissions in six days (required to mark and post marks on all submissions within 2 weeks). This coming Wed. have more projects coming in for marking for my second course which is an advanced level design thesis course. Feeling happy with myself today being a few days in front of my deadlines and after a few afternoon vodka-tonics got all student marks posted on the Internet.

Have to go now as fat Arab cat on a diet trying to drop his massive weight on the keyboard, indicating FEED ME.
