Damn, I really like it. With the bits and pieces from the Boss 302, the 5.0 Coyote will be tough to beat.

Wow! i would say this in one well done redesign. they needed to keep it a Mustang and make it international at the same ime and they have succeeded!

I like it, looks cool and ready for gfx and high wing spoiler it would look real cool... But having drove mustangs before, I will stick to my camaro as it's a much more refined driving experience.

The car looks good and will attract buyers. 4 banger is a good move (they've done it before successfully). Having said this, I have total faith that Team Camaro will best this car with the 6th gen.

I actually like it more than I thought I would. Most of the car seems to be an evolution of the current design which is a good thing. The grill is too much Ford Fusion which wouldn't be a bad thing if it was exclusive to the Mustang. I just don't see the majority preferring it over the current generation... we'll see how sales go

Bland. It's a shame the new Mach 1 is coming out with that generation.

But honestly, I want to know the final stats: curb weight and HP/TQ. This is what is going to really influence the 6th gen's development.
Pictures are out for GT versions, and it looks nearly identical. Hood vents, bars in grille, and slightly different rockers, and slightly different trunk.

Looks like upgrades to the Coyote and Transmission as well. I'd guess it will have to be 450 hp when Ford releases the official numbers.

I like it. And windows are windows. You need to have the window go back behind the head to open blind spots. Roof lines and what not are also pretty much the same from car to car...in other words, there's not much room to change that type of look. Yes, the stang looks much like the honda from the side. But again, there's not much they can do to differentiate w/out going ape shit crazy on price. Would I rather it be Audi(ish) with no b-piller? HELL YEAH. Same thing with the Camaro. I want my rear quarter windows to roll down and I sure as hell don't want a vert to do that.

I do. Hence the term "option". If you don't want it don't add it.

Doc is spot on.

Also, Ford had to throw a V6 back into the mix on the new Mustang because the turbo 4 would have driven the base model price up higher than they were comfortable with. That should tell all car buyers where the value really is in regards to engines, and why car buyers should be pissed off about what's coming down the pipe.

Trash Talk, Ford-Style

From Road & Track:

It’s also worth mentioning that Chief Engineer Dave Pericak said during our viewing that he wanted the base Mustang to beat the 2012–2013 Mustang Boss 302 around a racetrack. [Base BOSS, or LS?!]

So who’s this car for? Pericak name-checked the Porsche 911 and BMW M3 as benchmarks, but he noticeably didn’t mention the increasingly sharp Chevrolet Camaro.

“There’s nothing wrong with that rivalry,” Pericak said, “but if you’re going to better yourself, you have to look beyond that kind of thing. We wanted to benchmark something else, something a little higher than that.”
