Could it be a very small amount of concentrated electro-magnetic radiation that searchers in the SETI (Search of extraterrestrial intelligence) would be examining for possible signal content? Man, if that ain't a shot in the dark, eh?

Do I win, even if I'm wrong, 'cause my proposed answer is so outlandish?

Holy geeze, you're waaaay over my head, Ivas...literally. Plot your course for an easy left at Orion's Belt and come on back.

On a serious note, your answer was not correct.

Hint: Microburst -- associated with meterology

Microburst: A sudden down-force of air from a thunderstorm producing winds that spead out in all directions stong enough to blow down trees and damage structures , and property.

Reciprocity.

Reciprocity.
Correct on microburst.

"Reciprocity"

Recognition in other territories or boundaries. For example, a concealed handgun license having reciprocity in states apart from the state of issue allows said holder to legally carry concealed within those states.

Impetuous

"impetuous" - impulsive or moving forward rapidly

"Bromopnea"

This has gotta' be a medical term. For me, this will be flat out guessing from word bits and pieces.
'Bromo' probably has sumthin' to do with the stomach and digestion since there once was a popular remedy for upset tummies called "Bromo-seltzer".
The 'pne' has to do with breath 'cause "pneuma" means 'air' in Greek. The lungs, et cetera all involve that word part.

But, what do I know? THIS is what we all should be asking: Is there a doctor on the forum? Help! We need some esoteric advice.

Hmmm, utilizing Ivas' guesswork, and given the fact that sleep apnea is the absence of proper breathing during sleep due to collapse of the airway, I hazard a guess that bromopnea could be the absence of normal bowel activity (evidenced by a lack of internal sounds to indicate normal bowel function).

I agree with L99SS. The connection with the sleep disorder stumbled through my consciousness too. I guess it's true what they say 'bout "Mediocre minds think alike." Just kiddin' L.

Do we have a consensus? Being correct, in this case, would be an anticlimax.

I say L99SS has, by rights of the victor, the next choice. Does anyone disagree?

Nope not even close, well kind of. You each have a piece of the puzzle. Just need to work together with your ideas.

Getting warmer?

Does it have anything to do with the absence of a certain chemical compound associated with digestive juices? I'm thinking something-bromide.

Well, the idea is to give the correct definition of the current word challenge without the use of a dictionary or similar aid. Until we hear back from Stieger, the current word is "bromopnea".

Once a correct definition is given, the successful challenger posts a new word. You are welcome to participate!
