I hear ya Jan!

Got another 2.5 hours to put up with crap flowing down to me before I am out of here. Someone else will have to handle the crap.

It's Monday on Tuesday for me

We were off yesterday for a holiday!

Anyone care to guess what holiday?

Did it involve a cake and some off-key a capella singing?

(if so, we have generally observed the same holidays)

Granted......I am happy to have a job. However, having 5 supervisors is a bit of overkill. They all want something different, and one gets pissed when you are working on the other's assignment. So their solution is to send everything high priority. Now all assignments are sent high priority, so I am now back to first come first served. Then the drama begins.

I will probably look into a pdr guy just not this week. Its going to rain every day through the weekend so I cant wash the car to see if its just a dent or if the paint was chipped. Its high on the drivers door near the handle. She bumped into my gas grill when she was getting out of the car. I think 3 years without a ding was a pretty good streak.

I need to take more half days or full days off between January and summertime. Had a nice day without emails and phone calls.

Yet here I sit doing some OT, again.

Bathroom is coming along nicely. Everything is built out, so I think they will start laying tile tomorrow. No new work on the pool though.

Yep, 3 years is good Zandron. Get it fixed though, you'll feel better.

I hear ya Rick. I'm glad I have a job too but gee wizz is it frustrating sometimes. I am the most productive person they have so as my "reward" they are treating me like all the lazy ones & making me take only a 30 min lunch or none & schedule clients during that time (even the 30 min one I will sit at my desk & work the whole time just like I do through my 1 hr "lunch" now). AND they want me to come in earlier or stay later so I can schedule more clients. And then I will be spending even more time on the computer doing documentation at night when I get home. I thought I just worked there but I guess they own me! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Okay, rant over. I just finished my notes from today and now I am exhausted. Nighty night.

Best job decision I made was during my 1st mid life crisis when left my high paying but high pressure job in NYC and entered grad studies full time for two years. After earning the degree became a university professor. Many years later find myself a college prof. with great pay & benefits in Canada. Teach classes 30 weeks a year (3-6 hrs. per day), then weekly staff meetings for 6-7 weeks, then on paid leave from late June to late Aug. Outside of class I work at home on course stuff but at my own pace. I just do my stuff and administration stays out of my business. Dealing with students and their "issues" is stressful at times but worth the benefits. At my age best part is here in Ontario I am protected by law in that I can not be forced to retire so I can work until the day I drop dead and don't plan on retiring as long as I don't develop any health issues. I know I am very lucky to now have a job I love plus lifetime job security so don't hate me.

I wonder what your state's labor laws have to say about that crap, things like maximum hours of service per day or week, OT pay for hours over 8/day, 40/week, etc., maximum number of hours you can be required to be on the job without a true break, etc. Even for nominally exempt employees there are limits to what can be demanded.
