Well now they are saying we will not get as much snow. It won't make much difference in driing conditions as the temps will be so low whatever falls will be on top of ice as the rains that come first will freeze on the road and it will stay around for a while. I'm actually kind of bummed. If it is going to be that cold & driing hazzardous, it might as well be pretty but that is how it tends to go around here. It is weird though, when I was little we got good snowfalls every winter. Still they could be wrong. Like I said before, snow is really hard to forcast here. It will still be hte coldest temps we have seen here, now they are saying, in 40 years. But dang Skipp, It is just unbelievable the temps they are saying you guys will get. Stay safe all you guys up north. Have a good Sunday everyone.

at the frozen body part

We were already getting the freezing rain here as of a couple hours ago. In some other thread it was reported that places in Montana had -70° wind chill. Can't even imagine that, and I remember temperatures in the minus-teens when I lived in MA.

I just spent 4 hours taking down the outdoor Christmas decorations. I figured better today while it's cloudy and mid 30's and there is only a few inches of snow on the ground. Tomorrow the temps will rapidly fall into the teens then the lake effect snow will begin. Tuesday is supposed to be brutal single digit temps -30 wind chill heavy snow with high winds expected. Right now they are calling for 14 to 24" of snow depending on where the lake effect sets up by Wed morning. Looks like we are getting one of those old fashioned Buffalo winters it's been several years since we have had a rough one.

Around 9 this morning the temp was -15 with a wind chill of -30. Northern part of the state registered a -33 temp at that time. Guess this is in preparation for tomorrow when it's expected to be colder and all schools are closed per the governor last Friday morning. Wish spring would get here!

Indy is awesome! Been passing folks on the loop with my tail hanging out... gitterdone! Got to the terminal prepared to be snowed in for part of the day tomorrow. It's falling faster than the plows can clear it, by far!

Be careful Twisty! I just now hit 34 degrees here. The water on the roads will be freezing soon & the precip will change over to snow. The question is how much precip will there be left in the clouds by that time? I hope it is enough to keep me home tomorrow!

I was thru Nashville about 11am, by the time I got to Louisville they were getting a pretty good gully washing rain! If it's headed south you may get a good snow out of it.

It snowed enough to coat the deck, then stopped & the wind started blowing hard. Radar shows heavy precip over us but it is not making it to the ground apparently.

I fell bad for the folks dealing with the cold temps. It was sunny and 68* during our drivers meeting at Westworld, were the upcoming Barrett Jackson Auction will be held. There's a new building and the venue is huge! The tent is 8/10's of a mile and may become the new Guinness Book record holder. Five days to go!
