OK, this is going to be a very different question here...but I know many of you are plane enthusiasts.

I will be getting a computer simulator (not really a game) for the P51-D pretty soon.

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...os=136&lang=en

It does cooperative & head to head missions, and you can do up to 32 person dogfights/missions.

Anyone else that would be interested in something like this?

I also have the A-10C simulator which is very detailed.

This was a sample dogfight I ran across today...

Hey again guys! Figured I'd give you all a little update. This semester in school I joined the War Eagle Flying team. We have a competition coming up the last week of this month.

"My copied post from the ATL thread"

Flying team update:

Well, here was the flight team today doing some landing practice.

Name: WEFT Practice Oct 7 2012.jpeg

Size: 123.7 KB

You do 3 power on landings and 3 power off landings. The power on landings are the easiest (obviously). You can have power in as long as you want, but you must land with idle power and once you take power out you cannot put it back in. Power off landings when you are at 1800 foot on your downwind leg (aka you have a left turn left to perpendicular the runway (base) then another left to be on final) and you pass by your landing point your power comes to idle and you cannot add power anymore. (power off 180s for most of you that know what those are)

Here is how landings are scored.

We have a 1 inch wide line about 600 foot down the runway. 100 foot before and 200 foot after that line are two other lines making a "box." Land on the line, you get 0 points. Land 50 foot short of the line you get 50 points, land 199 foot past the line you get 199 points ect. Land outside of the box...400 points...do a go around 400 points. Add power after you take it out...200 points. Needless to say it all adds up quick. Closest to 0 wins.

Thanks for the update. Was wondering where you have been. Sounds like things are going well. Good luck with the Team.

Forgot to add that I did a 3 takeoff/landings with an instructor for a G1000 checkout, then was thrown into the G1000 for the first time alone to do my landings. That's some cool equipment right there!

In July, FIFI dropped into Cedar Rapids, IA for some radio work and of course - tours and flights. During it's stay, we asked if we could pose some cars around the bomber in exchange for some cash towards their mission. They jumped at the opportunity! We had unlimited access to the airplane for about an hour and a half...ON THE TARMAC with our cars. I have been waiting to post this until the photos came in from the photographer, but I found this thread again today and felt it would be a good idea to get the one shot I do have posted before I forget again. Trivia: The landing gear had Chevrolet Bowties cast into them...GM made the gear for that bird!
