Can I ask one of the experts here what need will the GMC Granite fill if green lighted? Are we going to go back to badge engineering?

It'll be designed differently from whatever Chevrolet and Buick have (think Equinox/Terrain), but crossovers are the new "hot" thing in the industry right now. So it's not surprising GMC is considering a subcompact. That Granite concept from a while back also had a subcompact pickup proposal that was actually built and shown, so that could be interesting.
Cadillac's planning a deluge of crossovers by 2020 or so.

Speaking of GMC, rumor is there will be a new model debut at Detroit. Not a subcompact CUV.
