I finally got all my pics & video loaded up just awaiting Tran to post the thread up on the home page. Mike & I washed the Camaros today & did some yard work. I'm all settled in on my spot on the couch now to relax & surf C5 for the evening. Here is a pic of Ruby all cleaned up with her new halos. Is it just me or does it seem like she has her own permagrin now?

Good morning crew. Today is visiting day. Going to see my dad & Mike's parents. I will show my dad some video of me drag racing & my trophy. He gets a kick out of that. In an earlier time he would have worried about me but now it is just fun. He will still tell me to be careful. We will take Mike's mother her birthday present a little early. I might get to swim a little in her pool if weather & time allows or we may do a little shopping. Have a good Sunday everyone.

Happy Sunday All.

Sky Man, that pic is too funny. It made me think of my dad - that's something he would've done.

Jan, you're right about Ruby's new permagrin - the halos look great.

Hey Sheriff

This past week has been a little hectic. Along with the usual stuff, my microwave of 10+ years croaked earlier in the week. I bought a replacement and yesterday a friend came over to help install it (read: he did the "heavy lifting" and I moved the junk out of his way). Thank goodness that's done: over the last 5 days without a microwave, I was going crazy; I use it more that any other kitchen appliance and like other conveniences, I took it for granted. I hope the new one works as long as my old one.

Last night I attended "A Midsummer's Night with the Monkees" concert performance here in town.

As a kid I was a fan of their hits and TV show; like all other girls at the time I couldn't get my hands on copies of the fanzines (Tiger Beat, 16, and Flip, remember those? ) fast enough.

I wasn't particularly familiar with their music outside of their Top 40 Hits, so last night was bit of an eye-opener.

In addition to several of their hits, they performed some lesser known (to me) compositions by Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork. I was reminded that all of these guys are accomplished, superb musicians and entertainers.

I was pleased to see that so much video footage from 60s and 70s had been preserved and was integrated into the show.

My eyes mysteriously started leaking during a video tribute to Davey Jones of a song and dance performance he did decades ago. This was followed by Mickey Dolenz enlisting an audience member to come up on stage to lead the band and a performance hall full of singers in "Daydream Believer." They played one more number and the concert wrapped up.

If you're a fan from back in the day, I hope you get an opportunity to see them perform live.

Here is a video of "I'm a Believer" and "Stepping Stone" from their Port Chester, MA performance on July 15th. Enjoy.

The Monkees! A blast from the past. We loved their show when I was kid. I still like their music.

Yeah! The Monkees. Went to an open air concert at Lagoon Amusement Park when they were a brand new group. Those were the days......

Good evening crew. I had a good day today. I had a nice visit with my dad & with Mike's parents. Then we went shopping. I was tired of gathering up my pants with a belt and feeling frumpy. I just bought 6 pair of size 8 pants. I haven't worn that size for like 30+ years. I got a good sale too. The 6 pants and 3 shirts & a blazer for a little over $100 (all good name brands).

Good Morning. I did not want to get up this morning. Could have used an hour more of sleep. But like it or not it is time to get up & at 'em. Coffee time for sure. Today I have to testify in court via phone in a Kentucky court case. I dread it. The atty on the other side is really going to try to pick my testimony apart. It will be okay though. I won't let him rattle my cage. Have a good Monday crew.

Does Michael Nesmith tour with them?
