Hey guys don't mean to interrupt the conversation here, but I am really freaking out now. I was doing a launch on a back road from a stop. When shifting from 2 to 3 using tap shift I up shifted to 3rd at around 6,900 rpm. Engine started to roar more after. After I tried to shift and the speedometer read about 7,200. I let off the gas and hit the brake afterward. The redline is at 7,000!!!! What could I have done to the car?

you did nothing wrong. there is a fail safe rev limiter. just a lag in the needle. the car won't let you go past the rev limit. unless you tune it out.

Phew, that is what I was thinking and hoping. I hope this is true though! Lol

I think I am done with this one for awhile meow. I know I have said that before but I am trying to get a track specific car. Hoping to get that in the next few weeks.

That would be golden. Then again, first time I drove my camaro I stalled quite often. At that point, I had only driven one other manual and it was a 97 BMW with a clutch that grabbed pretty high in the pedal travel.

Thats a nice looking ride. I dig the color hehe. So back to V6-land. Im upset about the stabilitrak that wont let you do a Rockford Files powerslide without a tune...so the SS will have the same problem.

So I think Im looking for a 1LE...the original ones hehe..a third gener...but they are tough to find, in good shape, and under 20k if possible lol

the V6 thread cant die...I think Im going to keep mine forever and ever...and be proud. Its got the true spirit of a pony car. Cheap and fun. At 20k brand new, you cant beat it

Doing GREAT. Lost 130 lbs. the past 16 months......

.... Feel like a million bucks..........

Daughter graduated High school this past weekend. 4th in her class of 270.........

.......... Proud moment in my life. Son is going to be a senior this up-coming year........

LIFE IS FANTASTIC........

Now looking forward to buying a 50th Anniversary Camaro in early 2017.....
