I've got better things tombs than be defensive about a car I paid 55,940 dollars for. If the opinions of online communities make menregret or rethink a purchase of this magnitude, maybe I should rethink my future expenditures.
i wouldn't. the 13 gt500 is a sweet ride. but there is no reason to be shocked that the zl1 handles better.

I would agree with you. One point about the "driving around in a parking lot" comment. These tests are relatively standard measures used to compare the maneuverability and grip of a car. Good results in these tests usually translate to a road course. Both cars put up good numbers in this one single set of tests. The Camaro, in this instance (skid pad and slalom), was better. I found the written article to be much more informative than the video. This is one comparison. I am looking forward to seeing them all. Two great cars with both shining in all areas and each having their specialty. Good choices for consumers.

Wait a second.

The GT500 is faster in a 1/4 mile. Proven by time, velocity, & acceleration, which are facts.
The ZL1 is faster on a road. Proven by.....opinion, which is rhetoric.

Ok, right, moral victories.

not on the road...testing by professional driver. But like anything else...decide for yourself.

Granted...he didn't look professional wearing shorts and a tee shirt. But given the saying "same driver, same course, same conditions, etc.", i'm sure the results might be closer (maybe) but still the same...professional or not.

Just curious, but we do all agree that the ZL1 is going to be much easier for non-professionals to get the most out of correct?

Well, just HOW much is being left on the table by the non-professional driver in the Shelby?

That's all I ask.

So it was tested off road, but not on the track...so..like the Baja?

A lot is left on the table for a non-professional driver in a Shelby. The video showed how the Shelby came loose around the G circle and that was just a little throttle trying to pick up a little more g's. Imagine exiting a turn on a road course and accelerating to pick up speed, a non-pro driver will most certainly lose it in a Shelby. Maybe a pro driver will be better, but he would still have to feather the throttle, so it won't come loose. I know this because I did it during a road course event. Thinking I had enough grip exiting the turn, I accelerated and lost it. Granted it was my first time, but being a patrol cop for twenty years, I thought I had it. (Forgot my 4t gen Camaro SS was different from a Crown Vic) All i'm saying, is, it will be a little more easier to drive a ZL1 than a GT500. What's the saying, "smooth is fast, fast is smooth."

Meant to say road course like conditions...with a professional driver. And just to be silly like you...both cars won't do good in the Baja.

I know what you meant, just shooting you some good natured crap. Sometimes I think this site needs it, but it has been pretty good the last few days.
