Cool car but I'd rather be a camaro owner than a mustang owner any day.

Good point. I never ran a vert at the drags that would run fast enough to have to consider a roll bar.

That wouldn't be a 427 would it? Guess that's another thread. Sorry for asking.

There's a reason we still haven't seen any Nurburgring times. When Ford posts those, then we can talk. Because, the ZL1 is a track car, not a 1/4 mile car...it's what it was made for.

The MRS will blow away ANY suspension the mustang has, and as long as the Mustang continues to have no IRS...it's game over on the twisties.

C'mon Ford...quit hiding and post your Nurburgring time/video.
Damn, you've driven the '13 GT500 already? Where are you pulling all of these facts from? Your ass, gotcha.

no, its a 533ci stroker (385 series) with TFS Street heads and 1150dominator and other goodies. Car is a bit of a pig though as you would expect from a full size convertible. 4070lbs.

I own an 09 shelby and while it does have awesome power and sound I can admit traction can be tricky. that being said, I'm not so sure about all this "zl1 is a track car" talk. least not more than the mustang. I'm thinkin both are better suited for the 1/4 than anything else. which would be why Chevy decided at the last minute to offer the auto w/tapshift on it.. the 1le is the track star among these, I'm assuming. rivaling the boss302... also you can get the shelby for a good $5k UNDER msrp. as opposed to the $5k over for the zl1.

I agree, but then again, how many people that buy one of these actually race them against ZL1's on road tracks? It's unrealistic (but fun) to compare track numbers for hobby drivers IMO. For me that surge and sound on take-off would more than justify picking this over the ZL1.

Hopefully GM can change my mind by next year when I plan on upgrading.
When it comes down to it for me, I'm picking the one with more horses, however shallow that may be.
