Of course they did, they're trying to sell magazines. It's the same reason they kept piting he GT500 against the Corvette, because GM offered nothing else comparable to the Shelby, so they compared a sportscar to a pony car.

Idiot Ford fan boy comment of the Day, then again, The Vette is a GT1 car and the 911 Turbo is a GT2 car maybe they did aim lower than the Vette.

Hey Shadowsong, I think if you're going to name your Mustang Eleanor it should look like Eleanor...

Far from it bud. I'm nowhere near a ford fanboy. Just because I drive one doesn't mean I'm a fanboy.

I think we're all a little too mature for name calling around here aswell.

...well I don't know about you.. but the rest of us are.

I won't lie....I smiled. As an ex-Supra owner, I've already got a competitive nagging toward Skylines...then when Godzilla tried to de-throne the Vette it became more personal.

Now it's just laughable.

Aww, does that mean that next year I won't be able to say GTR: Get Transmission Replaced?

GTR vs Z06 is a very close comparison, and if Nissans engineers weren't thinking of the Z06 they are some of the most oblivious people on earth. The two cars have similar price and 0-60. Corvette gets the edge in top end speed and acceleration, GTR gets advantage in handling and braking

The GT-R V-spec better come with a stick. If Nissan were suprised on how much people abused their GTR, the V-spec is meant to be abused. That DSG wont last a week in the V-spec.

Just had a brilliant idea. Why dont Nissan offer their new Downshift rev-matching manual on the GTR!

I can't tell if all the hate is coming from a bias towards all things domestic or a lack of serious objectivity? The GTR is one over-engineered supercar on the cheap, and the reference to the amount of development done on this car is not to be taken as negative. In all honesty the GTR has features that would make the ZR1 even more insanely competent beyond its magnificent engine. If it were so awful, well I guess it wouldn't be getting all the accolades it has received over the past year from the world over. It's one thing to dislike a car because its genuinely bad, another to "just because" out of blatant ignorance.
