I am sure Mr. Kerry will be reading these comments..... this is not borderline politics, it is politics.... which I thought was not discussed here... Let's see, before the Massacre, and the Tea Party, and the Revolution, the land had been occupied by some people who were already here but were displaced... I suppose a quote from that great American John Wayne would be appropriate here:
Quote:
I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them. There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.
Let the flaming begin?

Quite frankly. You have a good argument and no one LOVES to pay Taxes.

HOWEVER!

I just moved to Texas from Louisiana, and GLADLY pay the increased taxes. Why? Because Louisiana roads are F*&Kd up and Texas roads are smooth. Seriously, it is not how much your state charges in taxes as much as it is what in the hell they do with them. I had a 4th Gen TA in Louisiana and every mile was like being on a skate board.

Of course this has to be with in reason. No one needs to be gouged.

I think some are missing the point of HDDAN's original post. We are both from Massachusetts and PAY our taxes. We don't want to move.
The point of the thread is that some elected officials feel they are entitled to evade paying their fair share of tax. The arrogance of Mr. Kerry and other elected officials is amazing. If the average Joe tried to pull some of this stuff we would be in jail, yet they get away with it most of the time. All we're saying is pay the tax just like all the other citizens of Mass. have to do. It's the do as I say, not as I do mentallity that really is upsetting and unfair. They are not "entitled" and neither is the avarage citizen.

I did hear today that under pressure from the media, he did pay his tax on the boat today.....almost half a million dollars in sales and excise tax.

So the issue of not everyone paying their "fair" share will be solved here how? Corporations probably are in the same category i.e. not paying their fair share AND getting tax breaks.... however I am not sure other than venting frustration that anything will happen to resolve that issue here on this forum....
