You're right..its like Ford copied the Mustang in the Pony Car class...

Oh wait..

Ford hasnt been a "follower" at all..if anything GM has lately. In the 21st centry the Mustang was the first of the "retro" two door sport coupe's and giving people what they wanted.

If anything Mopar and GM have been following the Mustang for the last 6 years.

Yeah, you're right, the camaro came out in 1964 and inspired an entirely new type of car including the mustang. The camaro was revamped in 2005 with a new retro style and was so successful, it inspired ford to redo their mustang with a very similar concept and reintroduce it to the world. Oh, wait a second that's exactly the opposite of what happened. Ford invented the pony car and has absolutely dominated in that category for almost 50 years. I have nothing against the camaro, in fact I love it, but if either is a follower it is without question the camaro.

Hell you could say they started copying the 5th gen z28 in 2003.

Ford pretty much invented mass production and the modern car, yet he is a follower.

Hell one of the first companies Ford was part of, chief engineer, was called the Henry Ford Company. When Ford left that company it became known as the Cadillac Automobile Company. Just a little tidbit.

On one page, they have the points with the Mustang winning. On the opposite page, notice how the Camaro gets to 110 and 120 before the Mustang. It is also worth pointing out how the actual specs of both cars show better braking, for instance, goes to the Camaro, but the Mustang won in the magazine. That article was pretty biased, but the stat sheet on the facing page shows the truth.

They are both fast. Everyone will like one or the other for how it looks etc, but I think its great that both companies are putting out serious cars for the enthusiasts and solid family cars as well (new taurus, etc)
