the current gen Mustang GT (05-09) does 0-60 in 5.0-5.3 seconds. I think it actually has a mfr rating of 5.1 or 5.3 seconds, but don't quote me. Car is also capable of doing the 1/4 in 13.6-14.0 seconds stock.

The G37 does 0-60 in around 5.2-5.3 seconds.

Both the G37 and Mustang GT are going to be noticeably quicker than the Genesis Coupe V6

And just to throw it out there the 07-08 Nissan 350Z's do 0-60 in around 5.1-5.4 seconds...

Worse will be if if people buy this over the V6 Camaro, believing it to be a higher quality product.

Hyundai build a good fake Lexus with the Genesis sedan, I've driven one, but unless they've really done their homework with the coupe, they should not mention BMW...

I think that will depend heavily on how Hyundai prices the Genesis Coupe. But yeah anyone that's anti-domestic is going to surely probably buy a Genesis Coupe over the Camaro. The 4cyl Genesis from the sources on the net that I've seen look to start out in the 22-24k range. And for the V6 around 28k+ with it looking probable that a fully loaded V6 Coupe costing @ 30k+.

The turbo 4 coupe is looking like it's going to be very popular with the tuner and probably younger crowd seeing that Hyundai derived its 4cyl turbo, from the same block of an EVO.

The Genesis V6 coupe, I would expect Hyundai is going to market it towards the same demographic of people that BMW and Infiniti market to with the G37, and 1 series & 3 series coupes....

So where do you throw the Camaro in the mix? Well if the Genesis 4cyl starts out around 22k that's Camaro LS territory. Which performance for price I'd give the advantage to the Camaro. And if the Genesis V6 coupe does start out around 28k, well that's Camaro SS territory although I don't think people are going to really compare a Camaro SS to a Genesis V6 coupe...

But again we'll see in the commercials and ads who Hyundai markets the Genesis Coupe towards...

You can't simply blow it off as crap. Hyundai is about to make some serious waves in the industry and the domestic market must pay close attention. The car should be looked at closely by GM.

And it's ugly. You can't deny the unmistakable ugliness in the Genesis.

As always, the V6 that is faster than the LS/LT Camaro is also more expensive and is likely to be as close in price to the 1SS as the 2LT. That being said, for their first real shot at a performance coupe its pretty good. Styling is subjective, tons of people say the Camaro looks awful and the Genesis is beautiful. To each their own.

Also, it amazes me that people on a GM forum will write off other manufacturers based on reliability from the 90's. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black . . .

The only way to become the best is to acknowledge when a formidable opponent enters the ring. To just say it's ugly and immediately write it off, is not going to stop people from taking a look at it and buying it over the Camaro or (more likely) Cobalt SS. Identify and acknowlege the competitors strengths and weaknesses and go from there.
