Are red brembos better than the ones the camaro is getting? I have no idea about that stuff.

Hyundai once said the GenCoupe would be the cheapest 300hp car in the world. But that was before the pricing for the Camaro was released so we will have to see about that

No difference, just a color preference. Red just seems to shout performance and that's what many of us want our calipers to be. We love that agressive performance look. Most times it is better to get things like that from the factory rather than having to tamper with it yourself.

Yes, red is cooler and so helps keep the brakes cool.

lol right, I agree. How hard is it for GM to paint the calipers red? However... If I'm not mistaken though the only SS is getting performance Brembo calipers, I don't know if that is even available on the Camaro V6 LT w RS....

If it's not then it's just a hop skip and a jump to your nearest auto parts store where you can buy a ceramic paint caliper kit for like $20.00 I've done it myself and it's not that hard...

Can that be done without removing the calipers? If you mask everything off good?

The folks that are saying Hyundai has a stereotype or image issue...it makes me a little sad.

They are REALLY putting serious effort into that car and bringing a serious performer in for a decent price point. As an enthusiast you should applaud their efforts...and hope they continue to get better...who knows what they could produce in 5 to 10 years...look at Nissan and what they've brought to the automotive world.

Oh...and don't forget about some of the images that GM carries...and the Camaro. Hello Pot.....meet Kettle.

That being said...I LOVE that GM brought in a 300hp car for UNDER what Hyundai brought the Genesis in at....it was a marketing coup.

You can. Although it's a a lot easier to take the caliper off, and you'll do a much thorough job. I've done it with the caliper on, and off, and if I ever do it again I'll take the caliper off and that's what I advise... It's really not that hard...

Exactly and if you guys are already underestimating this car then you are making a grave mistake. I'm sure that most of you probably don't really follow the sport of "drifting" (I don't either actually) although most of you prob know what it is. It's starting to become more popular here in the states and one of the American drift team, Rhys Millen racing who is driven by professional drifter Rhys Millen, has driven two GM products, an 04 Pontiac GTO, and then they switched over to the Pontiac Solstice GXP.... Well they aren't driving both anymore... They will actually be using the Genesis Coupe...

So if you don't think GM isn't losing ground you're wrong. Also... the 2.0L 4cyl that's offered in the base model is actually the same block, and turbo that's used in the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X... So there's going to be a huge aftermarket support for this car not to mention there's going to probably be 400hp turbo 4 Genesis coupes running around out there in the future, that will be biting at the rear of both the Camaro SS and V6 Camaro...

You bet your ass it will, and then some. That application will probably be more popular and make more power in the long run b/c of the FI technology.

I am near and dear to the suabru market and I will tell you that with 2 grand a WRX will smoke the new SS. And that is a 4 cyl difference lol. FI is cheap and really puts a major advantage on the modability of a car.

As would I. I ventured into the Subaru world for the first time 4 years ago and I worked on the side with a well known tuning company for Subarus and other boosted aplications. I know alllll about how these things work and what can be done.

But through all of it and building a 12 second 2005 Legacy GT, I still miss my pushrod major TQ american V8. I have owned a 1968 GTO and 1997 Z28 and although neither was as fast, got as good MPG, or could be driven in bad weather as the Subaru......I still want to switch back.

Just don't underestimate these cars, you will be sorry lol
