I gotta say the VQ35 engine (G35/350Z) is the best sounding 6-cylinder I've heard, and no, I'm not being biased either. It sounds better than any Ferrari I've seen and there are a lot of them around here in South Florida.

4.3 liter V6 in an S10 with a Flowmaster 40 single in, dual out. Sounded just like a v8. I've got a Gibson on my Blazer and it has a nice mellow tone to it.

I agree with you that the VQ35 is just wonderful to the ears, but not sure it beats a Dino under acceleration...there is a abrasive overtone that is incredible. But back to the VQ35...the first time I heard a G35 speed away I was like "did anyone just hear that?". It was the best sounding ENGINE...period...on a car I've heard in a long time. |
