So I could buy that porsche or I could buy a zr1 thats only a few seconds behind it on a 12 mile course and I could still buy a house with the left over money. LOLLOLO

Hmmm unless Im a complete moron with my money the choice is easy.
The only integras or civics that could "outrun" a ZR1 are the ones that are fully drag prepped race cars on a drag strip, they are hardly an Integra or Civic anymore, and they would only just beat the Vette.

Well you could put a tune on the Porsche too. I hate the 'just throw in a tune argument' when you are talking FI cars. If you could truly afford the Porsche then you wouldn't be buying a $135k home.

That being said, the OP's info the ZR1 was never king. It was designed to get you to jump in and defend the ZR1.

You have to realize that the 'ring is Porsches home turf. It's bragging rights to a Corvette to do well there. It's a huge embarrassment to Porsche to lose there. Porsche's been testing cars on the 'ring for YEARS before it became fashionable to post up the numbers. It's like driving your Camaro over to Ford Proving Grounds and beating the best times of their testers who literally LIVE the Ford Proving Grounds track.

Porsche had to take that back. Good on them for doing so. Nice job OP on poking the bear.

That being said, it's a troll post. I tried to point it out gently- using the OP's info the ZR1 was never king. It was designed to get you to jump in and defend the ZR1.
First paragraph is true, well said.
Second paragraph, I don't think I understand. The zr1 was king of the 'ring, only behind the viper really, and it was definitely king of drag, but I didn't include that motor trend article. It was more of a "Hey, there's a really cool new car" post, not meant to be an argument...

LOL SURE you did. The ZR1 was 12th on that list. You know how people are about their 'vettes on this site. It was like walking into a biker bar and yelling "VStars are better cruisers".

If you wanted to point out the GT2 was a great car you could have simply said "Wow, have you seen this car?"

Claiming it wasn't a troll post because you're ignorant on the nuances of troll-posts doesn't make it less of a troll post.

This doesn't erase the fact that the zr1 still offers great bang for buck performance wise.

Don't really think he was trolling

Did nobody else catch the "only 500 will be made" part? I mean, I know that qualifies it as a production car but not in my mind. The ZR1 is a lot cheaper and a lot higher volume.

Of course the ZR1 isn't the King of the 'ring ... the Viper ACR beat it a long time ago. Not sure what this actually proves.

According to that site, The Ferrari Enzo had a better lap time than the ZR1 in 2002! Some of the guys on this site were still learning to ride a bicycle in 2002

All this talk as though the ZR1 was the "limit".
