i wouldn't be surprised though.... look at their cars, how many of them are performance leaders? The S5 is BMW M3 money...no where close to the performance. The Audi TT also severely lacks in performance for the price...

It would disappointing if they didn't at least "try"...Or maybe - just maybe - they will release a more performance oriented one a couple years after the initial release.

I love audi's designs, but their engineering is FTL. They haven't come out with a competitive product performance wise in a while. As much as I am absolutely in love with the r8, for the price the thing is sloooow. Audi's all about finesse and style now, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but don't expect earth-shattering performance from them.

I'm wouldn't really expect earth-shattering performance, but at least performance that matches the personality and style of the vehicle. They want to put this model above the TT, and I think sharing the engine with it would definitely not help their case.
