I have also tested this theory. Dude can be riding comfortably behind me in the middle lane for ten miles with no one else in sight, opportunity to move left and pass at any time if he wants to go faster, but just sits there.

Until I move into the right lane getting ready for my exit, at which point dude will accelerate as much as necessary to go by me, whether I stay at 65 or ramp up to 85+.

Yeah, damn those truck drivers....they get all the cheap power! So not fair...

It doesn't take much to get some good straight line performance out of a diesel truck but I'd stay away from him in the autocross...

I dont deal with ignorant crap like that. Moments like those are when you have to go back to what you were taught in school. Turn the other cheek. Don't let something that stupid get to you.

Yeah whats up with them. Just about 2 hrs ago I was leaving the movies with my attractive neighbor friend ;-) and this kid in a very rough looking 20ft high f-250, gas engine that sounds horrible(Who gets a gas f250?), with skinny stock wheels has some speaker under the hood with a whistle sound and plays it while we were crossing the street. I was like hey, wtf?? Im supposed to whistle at her, but we just laughed at the moron. He even had a girl in the passenger seat! It could have been his sister for all I know. ick

Some trucks will surprise you.....especially the diesel powered ones. Personally I think trucks are some of the best sleeper platforms for drag racing. They are rear wheel drive, V8 powered (usually). have leaf springs, strong frames, strong rear ends.....a perfect setup for a straight line performer. I don't care what people say, if I see a Camaro SS eating the dust from a truck, I will laugh at the Camaro.

OP, you may want to do some research on that. It costs about $1500 to make a Duramax or Cummins put out around 1200 ft/lbs of torque. That's not pie in the sky, you can get kits with a 5 inch exhaust and a programmer and there you are.

From what I've seen, they can get some really good 1/8th times but then they fall off. I think your car is faster overall but don't be shocked if he takes you off the line to 50 or 60.
