apparently Ford is selling more ecoboost's than expected.
the engine will become cheaper, once it arrives in the F150.
also the engine alone in the taurus cost 3k, ad to that almost every
option on the book and AWD. the list justifies the price.

The new Taurus IS pretty sharp imho. I would hope that eco-boost package would come with all the other bells and whistles too for that price though.

What the numbers are what they are. How is that not accurate. They don't say in the commerical it would get V6 mileage if it was lighter. You make no sense here. It's accurate homie.

What he said makes perfect sense. If that engine was in a lighter car such as the Camaro the number's would be better than what they are now. Seem's pretty simple to me.

Actually it does say that in the commercial...V8 power with V6 gas milage!

So much for V8 power with V6 fuel economy.

Ok, so to be clear, rolnslo was referring to the V6 eco-boost IN the taurus, and the 400 hp L99 IN the Camaro. So no, the eco-boost doesn't really offer impressive gas-mileage when compared to a V8

You need to compare the mileage to similar cars. All mpg are combined.

G8 V6 No AWD - 20mpg 256 hp
Charger AWD V6 - 19 mpg 250 hp
Taurus SHO AWD - 20 mpg 365 hp

You do realize the SHO is the top-of-the-line Taurus, right?

The base model starts at $25,170. If history repeats itself they will sell a ton of them.

Legend you didn't read that right, i know it says that. I said it doesn't say in the commerical that "you would get better mileage if the car was lighter".

The point I was making is that they are bragging about V6 mileage but the listed mileage is nowhere near top standards for a V6, when the V8 in the Camaro and Mustang are getting the same mileage as the suppose V6 mileage taurus

Taurus weighs about as much as the Camaro does. So for comparison:

Camaro LS/LT Rwd - 23 mpg 304 hp
