Initially, I thought this was a joke.
Now I'm not so sure.

Obvious trolling aside, let's just say that Ford has more hp per ci, but throw on identical bolt-ons and you'll see a huge difference in gains.

Why does a motorcycle with a one liter engine make 150+
size has far less to do with horsepower than design

Driving the camaro vs the mustang is like driving around with two fat girls all the time. back to the topic, The mustang 5.0 is an all new motor and it's a very efficient air pump. Wait until the new GM V-8's come out. I'm sure your going to see the small motor with more power theme from the blue tie boys also.

With a car that looks like this, you could easily keep the weight down though.

Simple. Their engine was a clean sheet design. Ours was an existing engine (the 5.7 aka 350) that was punched out to 6.2L Foreign cars get almost as much out of far less. The current WRX STI gets 305 hp out of only 2.5L. It's not that GM couldn't do it. It's that we don't want them to. Just make a post where the Z28 will get a turbo 4cyl and watch the angry posts fly on in.

cost probably has a lot to do with it. Ford started over from scratch basically while chevy kept it the way its been for years. Sure chevy could... but should they... Just look what Porsche can do, they have a 530 horsepower naturally aspirated 6 cylinder.... but then again look at the cost.

It's real easy...Ford took over a decade to figure it out with a "superior" engine design.
And even then they needed things like CAI and headers...

GM's been doing it since 2001 with the LS6.
