Stress Management
Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management technique that actually works -- and doesn't rely on habit-forming drugs. Ready to give it a try? Just follow these simple steps:
1. Take a deep breath.
2. Picture yourself near a stream.
3. Hear the birds softly chirping in the cool mountain air.
4. Recall that no one knows your secret place.
5. You are in total seclusion from the hectic place called the world.
6. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall in the distance fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
7. The water is crystal clear.
8. You can easily make out the face of the person you are holding underwater.
See? You're smiling already.

I just sit in the Camaro for a couple minutes and turn on some jazz on the radio.

I usually just say something "smart" followed by something they want to here, like, "If I didn't know better I'd say that you fell out of bed this morning by the way your acting!" Then say, "Is there something that I can do to help you so you are not stressing so much?" Believe me, this does work 90% of the time, some times I get blasted by that person but guess what, I didn't blow a gasket, they did and I actually felt better eather way.

But since she's two salary grades above me and "snapping" is kind of frowned upon, I can't. I just go home and vent at the end of the day. But it's so frustrating to have this person constantly make everything seem like it's this huge deal when it's actually not and make other people look bad for the sake of making herself look better.

What do you do? Bring beer to the office? do donuts in your Camaro in the parking lot? What???
I like the donuts idea, but make sure no cameras are around. Not so fond of the drinking on the job.

But for real... this is not an uncommon situation. You described my wife's last job to the T. Sparing you many of the details of how shes got in this position, her boss was your 'co-worker'. Her boss would degrade everyone in the office, as if they were "dee-dee-dee", and she made sure it was loud enough that everyone else could hear it. This was her boss's daily pleasure, and daily torture for everyone who worked under her.

As expected, the company had a high turn-over of employees... and the only way out for my wife was through the front door and never look back. I don't suggest you quit, but "life is short" and it might be a good idea to start looking for a business/company/employer who will appreciate your skills??

Fast forward 3 years, my wife is now extremely happy, and routinely being praised by her bosses. It is a lot of hard work, and may have been a step down for her at the time... but it was well worth it!

The real solution

If your co-worker who is bothering you, is doing anything that would qualify as "low class", then your BEST retaliation is just always act High class, which means, just ignore that person.

DO NOT: DO NOT CONFRONT THE PERSON and tell them what they are doing wrong. You will regret it later. If you are going to be there a while, DO NOT do that.

Usually, someone who is "hurting" someone else, is hurting inside. That person may have a bad marriage, their husband does not want to have sex with them. They have an inferiority complex. They might be severely insecure about something and they deal with it by hurting others. They also might have mental problems.

IF you really want to do the right thing, just behave in a high class way at work. You should feel sorry when you see this woman/person, revealing to the world that she is miserable. Just be glad you are NOT that person. IF YOU PROFESSIONALLY disagree with something she says (only work-related topics only), then PROFESSIONALLY respond to her face that you disagree. Show you have balls, just dont attack her personally. YOU CAN ATTACK HER IDEAS IF her ideas are WRONG and you can PROVE IT using basic logic.

In general don't make enemies at work if you can avoid it. Work is supposed to be peaceful even if theres tons of work to do.

If you can't stand working there anymore, try to increase your education level or seek a new line of work or career choice which allows you to have more freedom and less B.S.

There's tons of jobs out there where you don't even have to talk to people, except maybe just one single person who is just your immediate supervisor.

Many companies don't even HAVE any kind of politcal environment to deal with either. Look for a small company where your skills STAND OUT and you have less stress by humans.

Do not abuse your Camaro because of personal troubles of any kind. Take care of your car. Treat it right.

I deal with stress in my job day to day. My boss needs a good lay. one of my co workers needs to get her nose out of the bosses butt.

Its so bad now that we cant talk to each other unless its dealing with work

looking for another job that way I dont have to be back next school year.

Best advice so far. Being overly kind to someone, who is pushing your buttons to get a reaction out of you, disarms them and they don't know what to do. If you do it long enough they will crack and make a fool out of themselves.

One of my empoyees was a master at this.
