I've jumped tracks before but not in anything as nice as a Camaro. Did it in an old Ford Bronco II once and bent both front rims. Been across that same set of tracks in a Ford F-150 and Nissan Sentra also but the Bronco II got the best air time.

I'd never consider it with my car though. Not in a million years.

Simply - no.

Waited too long and saved too hard for my SS

I can apply plenty of other "normal" stresses to it without trying this

Too many opportunities for problems here

Guess I am just getting old

I used to do stuff like that in High school in my bronco but I wouldn't even think about doing it in the camaro. The bronco is still running strong though lol

Back in high school with my '93 grand prix I'd jump the tracks out on this dirt road that just went to some fields and a nice fishing spot. I'd say it was a good 4' rise over a 10' span. Would hit it as fast as I could get my car going before I got there (usually around 70). yeah I put 3 fiberglass leaf srpings under the rearend. I hadda quit ramping it cuz the guy at the salvage yard said it was his last leaf spring.

Nothing good can come of bottoming out the car if you want that type of sensation go to an amusement park. I second that motion about this is why I never buy use if I can help it for as much as I take care of my car their are guys that are total opposites.

The only car that I know of that's worth jumping tracks or anything of the sort is a car named KITT.

I used to work for a railroad up til last year and saw stuff like that all the time. There's a road here with 2 crossings about 50 feet apart. One day we saw a car jump the first crossing and the muffler caught on the rail and ripped the muffler off. Then they hit the 2nd crossing and tore the oil pan off and kept on driving for probably 900 feet or so and then they stopped for some reason.....

And Yes, I do work for a railroad.
cool, which railroad are you with? Something like that happened to a guy I worked with. 2 guys in a minivan ran into the side of their train and it killed the passenger and then 3 years later they decided to sue the engineer! And they drove into the side of the train that was already over the crossing..... its amazing what people will try to do.

Nope, I was driving my s10 down a hill (that I've never been on & at night) going 45, all of a sudden it straightens out & starts to drop again. I was more scared at that moment than I was going on roller coasters. Luckily the front bumper was already scraped & I didn't do any damage. I've never taken that hill again.
