That's cool that the Challenger may be getting some power...but I don't understand this statement. (^)

The SRT does not compete with the SS Camaro.

I dont completely understand it either..

I'm guessing he means that if the SRT does get anywhere near 500 HP that the Challengers HP/Weight ratio will be the best of the N/A cars and has the potential to be the quickest.

I think Silver Ice was refering to the 6.4 L is going to be 10K more than a SS/RS Camaro...And i do think the SRT8 now is slightly more than the SS/RS Camaro... It seems like the 6.4 will be more to compete with the Mustang GT 500 than the Camaro SS...

Considering the current Challenger is a redesigned Charger, this may well be true.

This "6.4" rumor has been around since before the Challenger even hit. It's been little more than a pipe dream to the SRT crowd , but if it happens, great kudos and all that, and it'll be much more expensive than the SS, even now, there's RTs going here for more than a fully optioned SS.

May have been, just read different. Actually in price and performance I see it falling in between the SS/GT and GT500 and Z28 (if GM ever gets their arse in gear ith it). Kind of a lonely place to be though. I wish they would build the CHallenger they did a few years ago with the Viper V10, would be sweet, expensive, but sweet LOL.

It's already in the dealership's service site for the 11 CHallenger.

Or find a way to shave 300 lbs off that R/T....the power is sufficient on that car....but man it is heavy.

Reason we don't see more Challengers is because the R/T and SRT8 are just too expensive. You can get a nicely appointed 2SS or 5.0 for the same price as a stripper R/T. Plus, Dodge is going to want near $50K for the SRT8 if it actually does make a 6.4.

Won't happen though. R/T with the 6.1 would get hit with gas guzzler tax, making it even more expensive than it already is.

yes it does...when you say something like does not compete means the SS is leaps and bounds better unless im reading your statement wrong and you are just saying that the ss is suppose to be matched with the RT?
