Maybe you have served, obviously I don't know, but I think...just a hunch, if you walked on their soil, saw what their citizens see, your opinion MIGHT be different. I can tell you ...its much more than oil, much more than WMDs ...(I know someone of you want to slap me in the face after that statement)...and yes sir... MAYBE it was ...hell maybe it still is to the pencil pushers, but if you saw the children, the families.....anyone with a heart would agree with where I am coming from

I am blessed enough to be past that point in my life, be alive and moved my career now to law enforcement....but I will say those who I have kept contact with want to come home to their families, but FEEL with what they have seen first hand that with the help and grace of God they need to be there

You sir are EXACTLY right, we have no right to impose our government's will on other countries. I DO however believe that with the power this country has, we have the chance to assist and help countries who are suffering....and they...are...suffering. The children, the men and women are thankful. Do they still want us there?...hell no, who would? But many will express that though they would like us to leave because they want a non-hostile living environment...they also express that they NEED us for the time being. If you believe we should be completely out of foreign affairs and not assist anyone...then you have a valid argument as well, there are pro's and con's to both....but what is "right"

.....just a thought, not bashing your opinions by any means
Like others we all cannot thank those who have served. (myself, included) however there are many places in the world that children and other are suffering and could use our help. My thoughts on this is you have to weigh each of these situations, one side the help we could provide on the other side the cost of American blood and treasure. In the end, IMO I don't think Iraq was worth it.

That is not a call for the American military forces to make, you volunteer and you take an oath. Agree, disagree, you do what was asked of you to the best of your ability.

The fault lies with our political leadership and the media

Just one man's thoughts

Without a doubt it is a worldwide epidemic..but you would all be shocked in exactly how many countries we are in...not necessarily military, but peace corps assisting with food...I don't know how much more we can do as far as man power....

The reason I harp on the Iraq topic is they went through a tyrant that (I cant recall the exact numbers) had them in gas chambers? Even though Saddam is gone...I think the concern is just to prevent that from happening AGAIN..hence the democracy talk from the pencil pushers. Maybe? No?..who knows, I am no Ivy league graduate.
